I can understand your hesitancy, considering the potential repercussions. On the one hand it could be argued that when you slaughter people, the means of doing so hardly matter. But when I see a video of an infant choking to death from gas fumes, I want to terminate those who caused that death.
Then there is the argument that this is a civil war, and therefore none of our business. I don't agree. I believe the slaughter of innocent people anywhere is the business of every human being with a pumping heart.
Finally, if we let tyrants get away with the use of chemical weapons, think what this could mean for other madmen in leadership positions around the world. Eventually these chemical weapons would be aimed at us.
Oh, please...spare us the false moralizing. You slept like a baby knowing that Saddam Hussein used poison gas against the Kurds, killing far more than Assad did in this recent attack.

You have all the fervor of the recently converted. Usually that applies to someone who's found religion, not war mania.

More importantly, a pin-prick token attack will do nothing but prove our impotence and lack of will, thus encouraging the dictators and tyrants. Want to send a message? Direct all those missiles at Iran's nuclear program. Syria is just their puppet anyway. There's no doubt about their WMD program. Hell, they're proud of it!

just let the Israeli's take out the nuke plant, they've done it before...

if they feel iran is getting too close to getting nukes, i guarantee you they will do what they have to to stop the process, they always have been that decisive in their own protection.

I don't like any of the scum over there. But using chemical weapons to kill innocent people is not acceptable in any SANE mind.
And America choosing to BOMB even more people to DEATH in Syria, that is less slimy??

yeah sure....but more importantly, last week I made a mistake I need to correct, in order to keep my record at Topix spotless....I gave you the wrong answer to the question,'what rock song first used the kazoo successfully?' the correct answer should have been,'Johnny Get Angry' by Joanie Summers....

That takes top priority of course.

Find a recording of the ancient song, "When Erastus Plays His Old Kazoo".

You are probably right. And Obama's waffling, confusion and delay in Syria is just convincing the Israelis that they will have to go it alone. That will be bad for the entire middle east. They have a much better chance of failure than we do, creating a hornets nest of war, possibly including WMD's and nukes.

This is all happening because we elected a clueless nobody just because he's black. According to Hillary Clinton, Obama voted "present" an abnormal number of times as a legislator. That's because he can't make up his mind! So what did we do with this indecisive, inexperienced amateur? We made him President! He doesn't want to lead the world except from behind. Now the world is paying the price for his abdication of responsibility.

Obama's plan in Syria is to launch a meaningless, pin-prick attack that will further degrade his credibility and not stop the future use of poison gas at all. That's just not worth it. Better we sit it out until we can get a REAL President in office.

Have you tried The Village People?

There really is a "When Erastus Plays His Old Kazoo", played by Johnny Dodds and his Black Bottom Stompers. To me, Dodds (now playing for Gabriel) was and is the greatest jazz clarinetist of all time.

Russia has produced scientific proof of the Syrian rebels’ use of chemical weapons that would reinforce claims that the attacks were staged to provide a pretext for Western intervention in Syria.
Laboratory tests of samples taken at Khan al-Assal, the site of an alleged nerve gas attack near the town of Aleppo on March 19, indicated that it was the rebels, not the Syrian army, who mounted the attack

The ambassador said the results of the analysis indicate the Bashar 3 rocket "was not industrially manufactured and was filled with sarin."

The absence of chemical stabilizers, which are needed for long-term storage and later use, indicated its “possibly recent production,” he added.

“Therefore, there is every reason to believe that it was the armed opposition fighters who used the chemical weapons in Khan al-Assal,” Churkin said.

"The results of the analysis clearly indicate that the ordinance used in Khan al-Assal was not industrially manufactured

“Our investigators have been in neighboring countries interviewing victims, doctors and field hospitals and, according to their report of last week which I have seen, there are strong, concrete suspicions but not yet incontrovertible proof of the use of sarin gas, from the way the victims were treated. This was use on the part of the opposition, the rebels, not by the government authorities.”

does Gabe have him under contract? musicians can be untrustworthy, he could be moonlighting, metaphorically speaking.

Dodds came from a very religious family, and would never lower himself to the moon. And he does have a lifetime-and-beyond contract with Gabe. Besides, Louis Armstrong is in the same band, and they have a long history of playing together. And Gabriel is content to be second trumpet.
