They probably have wonderful, clean, safe homes, refrigerators full of healthy food, clean water, medicine, families who love them, jobs that pay a fair wage and an honest government...who WOULDN'T leave that for NO HOME (ie. homeless duh!) and having to resort to living in the woods in Huntington. Why do we have to go to other countries for these chronicles?
We have them right here in our own neighborhoods, our own island, our own state and our own country.
People (American citizens) are prostituting themselves and living in abandoned houses in Philadelphia. On Long Island, they are paying rent to live in taxi cabs.
When is this country going to stop playing games and deal with the poor and destitute of their own citizens?

I would have been impressed if Goldman had simply cooked the meals for the homeless and not added the photography angle. In doing this, he was helping himself, probably more than his once-a-week meal duty helped those homeless people. Self-serving disguised as a good deed is inexcusable. I'm also wondering if Goldman should win a Pulitzer, will he share the prize with the homeless people who took the photos?

I do feel sorry for them, but they need to wait on line like the other millions trying to get here legally. These illegals are really straining america and really if you really want to hand away money. Try our senior citizens they are really finding it hard to get by. The high cost of housing, taxes, food, oil is really taking it's toll. Most don't have food in their refrigator. They aren't buying cell phones or Nike sneakers.
How come when they cross our borders none of them look they are starving or abused? Open my home, no way, I will donate money to drive them to the border! I will open my house to a senior who worked their whole life and now in their golden yrs cant afford to eat.On Long Island they are proposing to close nursing homes. Yet we continue to support anchor babies and their mothers! disgusting.

Today I went to the vincents pizzeria in Ronkoma was an x vet selling flags to get by. I gave him a few dollars and he insisted I take a flag and pin. I refused and told him to sell it to another. He was soo sweet and "God blessed me." My point is that there are enough seniors, vets AMERICANS that are really hurting due to our economy. These illegals need to go and american needs to take care of our elderly americans.
