You did a great disservice to all charities by painting a misleading and incomplete picture of charitable fundraising.

RE: Offshore Drilling

Bush and Co. make it appear that there is currently no drilling off our US coasts. There are existing resources that they have available that they're not drilling for now. They have now leased 41 million acres of offshore leases. They're only pumping in 10.2 million of those acres. Seventy-nine percent of all the offshore oil available off the coast of Florida, into the Gulf of Mexico, the Atlantic Coast, the Pacific Coast, lies within those acres that they now have. Why are they not pumping? Why are they not doing this? Why are they not pursuing what's estimated to be billions of barrels of oil at their disposal right now if they pump? It's because they want to get it in before George Bush leaves the presidency. It's because they're not pumping the oil to keep the price up. They are not even drilling. So here you have 30 million leased acres they have right now that possesses 79 percent of all the offshore, and they're not drilling. The lifting of the moratorium is nothing more than them wanting to get to the other 600 million acres that are not included in this.

ABSOLUTELY CORRECT! Let's not forget Big Oil's, Rush Limbaugh's and Bush's frenzy to open ANWR up to leasing despite the fact that NPR-A a little west of ANWR has proven oil resources, has been leased to Big Oil and IS NOT in production.

Make them produce from what they already have before we grant them more leases they can stockpile in anticipation of future gouging.

Oh get off the cross for once and STOP blaming Bush for EVERY trouble that comes down the way! You people have had a TOTAL lib congress for two years and what is the result? More gridlock and chaos!

One item NEVER mentioned is about the already leased oil acreage. It is not being used because there seems to be NO OIL in that acreage or you would assume they would be drilling there already. But of course it is a conspiracy by the government to raise oil prices to enslave us all, and only blame shifting, shouting, screaming, and character assassination will solve it! Gimme a break!

It took years and many DIFFERENT administrations (lib and conservative) to get us into this mess and it will take a mentality shift in congress and the nation to get us out! We are a nation of wasters! We use 25 percent of the worlds oil but have around 2 percent of the population. This must tell ya something!

I am insulted that Mr Saylor believes that society is somehow responsible for "Herion Mom" selling drugs. She sells drugs for the same reason she has "eight" children, laziness....even getting welfare takes "some" effort.

In regards to off shore drilling this person who wrote this is short sighted. Does this mean thast in Europe, Canada and other countries who are paying almost twice as muxh as us. that their leaders are manipulating prices as well. I think this guy hatesB jsh and his cronies and nothing well convince him otherwisel

To Saylor and his bad choice comments, are you kidding me with this? The mother is a victim of the "drug war"? Your line of reasoning is simpy ridiculous. Is your answer then to legalize all drugs therefore eliminating the lucrative business? Think of all the addicts we would have then in our society.
I agree that the business end of selling drugs is profitable but at some point, she had a choice;between a life of crime or trying to scrape by, finding resources. This has nothing to do with bigotry or hypocritricism, it has to do with being a human being. She became a mother eight times and never once thought about how can I support this child or how will I do this? Maybe she did, we don't know. She must have family that could have helped, but to say this wouldn't have happened because of the drug war is taking a giant, ignorant leap.
