maroon: the new turquoise

Maroon is a thick rich dark red tint and is popular for eccentric velvet cloth and offbeat stage props for various vaudeville shows.
Turquoise is a blue-green mixture and is popular for gems and alternative-styled street clothing.
Turquoise has been popular in the arts since the 1950s and arguably earlier, however, the color of maroon has been growing in market appeal since the 1980s and especially in the late 1990s.
Today's offbeat American rock band Maroon 5 obviously flaunts this trend successfully.
Changing color wheel trends in the arts and culture perhaps reflects the society idealization value of Hollywood (USA) movies such as "The Green Lantern" (2011).
Are they printing movie posters on hemp/recycled paper yet?
