I wouldn't go to Lajatico for the concert at the Theatro dei Silencio for it would be far too hot for Polarman in Italy in July. He honestly doesn't like the heat. There is also the question of the big bucks you have to pay to see the show. It would have to be part of a holiday and I would rather visit Tuscany in the spring when all the poppies are out. I also find that as I get older I don't really like being part of a big crowd. However, I WOULD like to see Andrea at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, especially if he were singing his piano bar repertoire as maybe Incanto will be. The Bridgewater's a small venue, modern and very intimate. The acoustics are superb. I definitely would pay to see him there.

I lost some photos of Volterra in the same way last year. I console myself with the thought that will have to go back to replace them.
If you want to replace yours Gert you could treat yourself to a trip to Norway perhaps.

I was in the area last year at the beginning of july and I can tell you it was definitely not too hot! I agree about crowds etc . There is something about the hullabaloo surrounding the lajatico concert which puts me off but I think this year's concert might have been worth the effort. I couldn't even consider it when it was in August. I understand this year has been particularly hot in many European countries. Hard to oimagine from here I know. I wonder if there is any chance at all that Andrea would appear at smaller venues outside continental Europe. Would it be considered worthwhile?

I don't know the logistics of it, but he wouldn't have to pay his orchestra, just maybe a violinist or a guitarist to give him a break from playing the piano. He'd definitely be a sell-out and maybe it would give him a bit of professional satisfaction choosing his favourite repertoire. He could still have a guest singer to help with one or two of the songs. What do you think, Gert? Do you think he would interact with an intimate audience?

His comcert in Vienna last year with this format was successful and well received by fans. I just don't really believe it would be considered outside continental Europe but maybe of sufficient small venues could be found.....

I have never been mean until I got to know what these women are truly like. Now I can get ugly with my words. They think they are superior to us, but we know they are no better. Good! Don't let them push you around! Yeah, they truly take the cake. So funny though that they appear to be soooo lost without Gert to guide them....lol....the 62 yr. old ring leader and followers!!!....really SMART!! ' Gert, Gert, come back!!! I can see from your postsAmy and Andrea, that you are starting to feel alittle silly and embarrassed having a two-way conversation about how "mean" the rest of us are. That is why Irishharper urged us to ignore you,of course. Imagine how you will feel after a few more pages of such childish drivel. So you think i know something about rudeness? Well obviously I do. The difference between us is that i never initiate rudeness . I just use it in retaliation in case people should get the idea that they have shocked me into silence. I have been reading over your recent posts. The main points seem to be that we are allmean, that some of us are brits and that gert is 62. Are you really narrow-minded ,racist and ageist?
Andrea {I think] says that sometimes we make some valod points. Who are you to judge that. Don't yo mean that sometimes you agree with us up to a point. That is the whole point of a discussion.
I have often heard men say that they find it difficult to have a discussion with some women because they personalise everything. I see what they mean.
I can't speak for anyone else but i am perfectly happy to sit back and let you show us how it is done. I should have thought that there were plenty of other places where Bocelli is spoken of purely with love and respect but apparently these don't satisfy you. So let us have some of your ideas . Discussed of course, with love and respect and taking care not to offend anyone anywhere in any possible way.
I look forward to reading your views expressed in this way.
If you don't come forward with some positive ideas for discussion or some expression of your own thoughts then you will disappear temporarily as gert has described and come back ,with all your negativity at another time.
I don't believe either of you are so stupid as to want to continue with the toe-curling stuff you have written above. If you disappear in this way it is not because you have won some sort of victory it is because you have nothing positive to contribute and you are slinking away with your tails between your legs.
I am posting this for two reasons {1] I hate to see people making fools of themselves {2] I don't have much time to come here and I don't want to have to wade through loads of rubbish before i come to a sensible post.

Katy,
You have surpassed your all time low. Rest assured that you or anyone else shall not run me off from this or any other site. I chose this site because I discovered it totally by accident. I thought it to be somewhat interesting and therefore I have no intentions of leaving because you'd like that very much. You and your "friends" are experts at trying to run someone off for your own satisfaction. I am NOT a dog that will run off and "catch the ball". So like you, like it or not, I am here. I have nothing to feel silly or embarassed about and I strongly doubt that Amy does either. There is nothing to feel silly or embarassed about! Voice you opinion Katy, for I shall do the same, no different that anyone else who comes here. So now I can't agree with anyone Katy? Petty Katy, very petty. Yes, Gert has come across as an athiest in the past, and I think she should keep those comments to herself for she would offend many by these comments. Or doesn't Gert care who she offends which I think is more likely. Katy, Katy, Katy, I will not "slink away with my tale between my legs" as you say. I think I have already clarified that with you. I'm so sorry you don't have much time on your hands to read all the posts, you think you are the only one? Geez! Lady, you really are something. I think it is you and your clicque who need to be way more open minded, for narrow minded you all are!! You all need to lighten up about Andrea,he only a man for God's sake!

The poor creature needs to get evem. I heard from a friend who was at Andrea's concert in Lajatico but there is no point in trying to discuss tthat here. We have our own "Andrea" now who seems to believe that she is more interesting than Bocelli. "Bocelliland?" Is that like "Oz?" You callin me a "snitch?" haha! Andrea? You are "more" interesting than Andrea? Which Andrea is Andrea? Who is better than who? Oh damn! Let me get out my uppity snob "rules" book here and find out!!

Katy wrote: For those of you who are genuinely interested in bocelli and have actually taken the trouble to findout about himand his music I would say that appearances seem to indicate that we have the "old " Andrea back again. I think his new CD will be "tenor Favourites" by another name . i wouldn't be surprised if he meant to appear just with carlo Bernini at the piano as this is a very popular format. thank goodness for a break from Amore! WOW Katy...You mean you actually "like" Andrea and his music? That's awesome! ha ha! For the record I wouldn't be here if I didn't "genuinely" like Bocelli's music. I personally don't care what comes out of the man's mouth because anything he sings is beautiful.
