Shy David Archuleta is a star on 'American Idol'

It was no secret that David Archuleta could sing - students and teachers had heard him belt out holiday carols during Spanish class and an opera aria at a school arts festival.

Sorry, Piers. The teeny boppers have taken a tremendous liking to David Archuleta. He's likely going to win the whole thing. Remember, as Simon likes to point out, at this point it is a popularity contest and David Archuleta has a solid fan base in the teeny boppers.

I am a 53 year old elementary teacher and am very impressed with the pure nature of David Archuleta. I tell my 11 year old students that fame is not always what you see in the media. The drugs, and ridiculous action of some of or young stars is outragous. I is a breath of fresh air to have David to be a role model for the kids. I wish his all the luck in the world and hope he is the next American Idol. My wife and 2 children are glued to the tv when Idol is on and hope his success continues. We vote about 10 times each, so there is 40 votes for David each week.

He's a breath of fresh air, he has a real talent and handles himself very well for such a young man. I hope he goes all the way, but no matter what happens he will be successful. Chris Daughtry proved that you don't have to win the title to have a successful recording career. I wish him all the best.

He may be a star on American Idol but is this young man ready for the demands of the music Industry.He's admitted being comfortable singing slow ballads but is that enough to make hin an entertainment pop star. I'll admit the young man has talent but it's his age that concerns me. I really wish David all the luck in the world but is it his time or does he wait a few years to break out.

After reading this article, I'm glad to know that David A. is a nice kid. He really deserves whatever blessings he is receiving right now.

And you know what guys, I'm thankful that he's not like Danny. Unlike David A., I find Danny really, really rude. I was really happy to see Danny go. America voted wisely. Good guys always win, huh?
