Hi, all,
I've been browsing design blogs and sites for design and decorating ideas, and I definitely prefer that high-end look, naturally, but I'm also a single professional (just starting out), and I don't have that kind of money to spend yet. Just wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to get that expensive look on a budget.

Here are some of the sites where I got some ideas:

Thanks so much for your help!

I presume you speaking about the website, which is your advertising and marketing tool.
If yes, then you really don't worry as technology is not really costly. For a single flash page as home page and 20pages additional you can get it done for US$739.00 appx.

Thing to watch out is your contents and pictures.

Designing the site, theme, template is done by the graphic designer.

How it's done: Less is more...a cliche for a reason. Plain floor, wide oak planking or concreet. Large rug over it, plain colour, no large contrast with floor. All walls (off-)white or light grey, one big wall darker. Darker wall to have a large 'art piece' 4x4 feet or so. Place one or two strong designer furniture pieces, not more. Keep the rest of the cabinets / tables plain. Place another small akward side table in there (rough wood or stone) and done... IKEA will get you most of it. Remember, all colour tones, no contrast, Good luck, thedutchstandard.com

While my projects aren't necessarily high-end, I do focus on doing things yourself on a budget. I'm just starting out so I'll definitely keep high-end in mind when working on my next one. Check me out http://anobledesigns.com/
