I have the exactly the thing for you guys. I always loved ballet to and decided to join classes about a year and a half ago. I am now 18 so I found it so hard dancing with all the girls that stared when they were 3. But my friend showed me this website
http://www.ballet-tips.com
and it taught me exactly what I needed to know and now I am in a dance school, dancing all day 5 days a week and loving it!

I started ballet at 13, now I'm 14 and on pointe! If you have a natural talent and are very flexible- go for it! However, if you dnt commit and work hard towards ur dreams u wont get anywhere at all.

No way! I started ballet at 17 years old! I'm now nineteen and have gone on to continue at music theatre college and am about to start pointe!!! I was told I was too old by a lot of people, yet now I'm told I could go far! So if you really wnat to do it, go for it and don't let anyone tell you otherwise!!!:)

Well, I'm 16 and i'll be 17 in a few months.
For the longest time I've been wanting to start ballet. I was unable when I was younger because of financial issues. I've done other types of dance through school like Jazz, hip hop and High Kick. I know some of the basic turns and I'm pretty flexible. In the last couple weeks I've talked with my dad and decided that we were able to afford group lessons and maybe also private lessons. My goal is to become professional one day. I am a very determined person..and this is the only thing I have ever really wanted for myself. Does anyone think it is possible?=[

I am 12 nearly 13, and I am really interested in doing ballet. I am not very flexible but quite strong from recently quitting karate (because I am concentrating on starting ballet) I pick up things really fast and I really want to go on pointe. Will I be like 15 when I start? I'm sooooo keen to do this and trying to be as patient as I can. How long will I take??

Hey you guys,

I just wanted to tell you that if you love something whatever it is you're doing, DON'T STOP IT!!!!! no matter how hard it is.... I had the best oporrunity in my whole life but I turned down....because I thought I wasn't ready for it. Well now after good couple years I want to go back so bad and I think I might...so good luck to you all.

Hi,
All of my friends tell me I would be good at ballet, and I really want to try, but my family says I'm to old.
I'm 15 and I've been doing circus since I was 3 and I started gymnastics four months ago, I'm strong and flexible, but I fear I might be to tall, standing at 1.70cm.
Everyone says I'm to heavy to lift because of my muscle density though (55kg(8 stone, 8lbs)) should I go for ballet or try a different style of dance that my body shape would better suit??

I have struggled through a couple months of dance, having never done Anything much at all for most of my life. I'm 16, and am tired of feeling worthless and useless. I'm sticking at the classes, even though I'm the worst there, and have started judo too, despite being the only girl. It feels crap and I feel crap but I want to say that the comments on this page are so uplifting! never ever give up on anything, you only get to live this life once so you might as well live it the best way you can and haters be damned!! I gave up a couple of times, I lay in bed crying. It sucks! Screw that! The expert in everything was once a beginner and it's your time to make a difference and get good at something you love! It is never to late!!

12 years old!! That's so so much time, if you start now you've got years and years ahead of you to become awesome at ballet! I'm 16 and only just starting, what I wouldn't give to be starting at your age! As for the cost, it varies from school to school, but if you are able to pay for it then go go go! Never look back, I believe in you xx :)

I hope it's possible anyway. My mom tells me it's pointless and laughs at me and my dad doesn't take me seriously. I'm not at all flexible and sixteen seems awfully late to get started. I try to keep positive bit sometimes it just seems pointless. Any advice?
