What a wonderful show last night! I think any review of such a performance must include an enthusiastic mention of the corps de ballet. They were stunning and beautiful. Their ensemble set the tone for the entire evening. If there is anyway to rewrite your review, one that is more inclusive instead of persnickedy and quibbling, it would be far more balanced and, indeed, accurate.

I agree--the swan maidens were wonderful and deserving of special mention. The students from BalletMet Academy were also worth noting. Beautiful dancing all around.

For years I have read the reviews written by Zuck wondering how in the world can this person write a review about something she knows nothing about? It is more than obvious. It's unfortunate that many people may read her reviews and never attend the ballet because of her reviews. Those of us that understand ballet and dance can appreciate the skills and beauty of the balletmet dancers. The props, lighting and general effects are always great, but Zuck wouldn't recognize that. Get rid of her. Who is she related to? No one else would still have a job if their reviews were written like hers. I will look for the Cinti review.

The reviews for arts, in general, have been subpar. The review of the Symphony's concert a week ago was totally bizarre.

I saw the Saturday show and enjoyed it so much. We gave them a standing ovation. I'm no expert by any means, but I will say that I was moved to tears twice just by the beauty of the performances. It will be a treasured memory and was a joy to be there.

I saw the Sunday afternoon show, and I thought Carrie West's performance was beautiful and flawless. I disagree with the reviewer that she seemed overly cautious, I think that she perfomed the role of Odette perfectly.

it is a good thing stimulus money was spent from the nea so that swan lake could be performed for the 1 millionth time and that it didn't have anything to
"disturb" the little columbus audiences.

ballet is only one style of dance that gets the most support because it never "upsets" the audience like other forms of dance. Yes, barbara zuck has been doing uneducated dumb reviews and it is a shame for the arts community.

Did Ms Zuck see the Ssaturday night performance? I saw both and found Saturday night a better fit. Both Adrienne Bentz and Jon Drake did a superb job and were quite convincing in their role. I think Zoica Tovar had more fire as Black Swan but Emily still did a wonderful job. I found the four little swans to be done with good technique and briskness both nights. Kudos to both casts.

Dear Rebel, I was wondering why you bother to write about ballet since it is evident you have no knowledge about the classics. As a classical dance lover I also enjoy other dance forms and even ones that "disturb" me. However, not everything should be upsetting. A true dance officienado should see the worth in both types of dance. One style does not negate the other, but one style does demand more talent and technique.
