Too old to start ballet and get on pointe?

i'm 16 and i love ballet a lot. i have dreamed to dance on pointe since i was young. however, i haven't danced ballet before but 7 years chinese dance. there are voices in my head to make me start ballet but i just dun have the courage coz my parents won't allow me to. dancers at my age are way better than me and it's embarrassing!!...i just don't have corage to start. am i too late to start...or even get on pointe?? should i start at adult class or what?
plz give me some advice! plz!!

You should definitely try it again!:) It's never too late! And of course you can get on pointe as soon as your dance instructor thinks your ankles are strong enough, If you think that dancers are better at your age its because they have danced a lot before.:) You can do it if you are willing to work and just have fun! Ballet is difficult but also EXTREMELY fun if you put your mind to it. Are you thinking of becoming a professional? <3 You should check out my blog and look at the ballet for beginners page!
