The Brain Injury Global Picnic

Many people closely associated with brain injury have
come together to assist in the organization of a ‘Global Picnic,’
to be held on Saturday 30th June 2012. We are inviting everyone
we can think of to help us organize, what we hope to be, the
biggest ‘charitable’ event the world has ever seen on a single day.

For too long brain injury has been known as ‘The Silent Epidemic.’
For too long brain injury has been called ‘The Hidden Disability.’
It is estimated that there are one BILLION people on this planet
living with some kind of brain injury. Many of these are managing
alone without help. Many have become bankrupt and are living on
the streets. What would happen to this number if we added on their
care givers and medical professionals…?

I am astounded by the wave of positive support and pledge’s to help.
Already people are taking up the challenge and making inroads into
the planning and organization of this event. People are sharing the idea and it will continue to ripple outwards…

The idea is this…

We want every single brain injury association / foundation / charity /
non-profit organization, and every single individual touched by brain injury,
across the world, to come together in parks, sports fields, church halls,
community centers, back yards and everywhere else people can think of
with one shared goal – to raise awareness about the main and common
issues surrounding brain injury.

We need people to help us to co-ordinate this event, to carry out research
and spread the news. We need people and organizations to come back to
us confirming that they will organize a picnic and we need people to help
with the design of display boards, leaflets and posters…

We also need to find sponsors so please contact me if you are able to
support us financially…

My sincere thanks to everyone who believes that we can create change…

Please join us on Face-book… Join in the discussions, add your opinions, volunteer your time and skills to help us… BE INVOLVED in MAKING
TBI Global Picnic
