I talked with a few friends that had seats on the floor and they all said that the music was to loud and could not hear Carrie's voice very well. I had upper seats and thought the sound was perfect. The sound crew needs to do a better job during sound check. I thought the jersey was a nice touch but someone should have told Carrie that the venue she was performing in was named after a fellow oaklahoman so she could make refrence to it.

Having read a majority of these comments and being a former reporter myself, I have to laugh. Negative reviews to nothing to performers unless they are young foolish people who believe everything they read. Its the fans who make the shows, not reviews published two days later. I didn;t even attend the concert. Carrie Underwood is a good performer with a wonderful voice, and everyone has an opinion, she will come back. Who cares what anyone writes? Including me.

Loved the concert give her a break she is just starting out and did a great job. I was sitting right behind reporter Doug Pullen who switched his front row seats after Josh Turner performed for seats higher up. He must have not been able to see the show as well maybe he should have stayed front row. I disagree with his review and feel the Carrie Underwood put on a great perfomance and if Doug Pullen was going to be inducted into the Grand Ole Opry I am sure he would have announced to the world as well. Also I am sure Carrie Underwood did not prompt Josh Turner to joke about selling records. Reporters like Doug Pullen are the reason why we do not get BIG headliners to come and perform in El Paso. They write crappy reviews and when the performers read no wonder why they do not come back. I am sure next time when planning concerts they will go somewhere where someone as something nice to say about all their hard work. Carrie Underwood has great personality and I hope oneday she comes back and does not read this review as it was form someone to me who does not appreciate a good concert or country music. Next time Doug you need to stay home!!!!!!!!!! Great Job Carrie -- we love you--El Paso Fans........Hope to see you again oneday !!!!!!!! oh yeah and CONGRATS on the Grand Ole Opry induction we will all be watching.
I am the real Doug who changed seats with Pullen. Carrie Underwood hit on me right in front of my wife...TACKY!

The review was right on. The sound was terrible and she acted afraid of the crowd. Did you see the bruiser sitting on the side of the stage who went with her every time she left the stage. Who does she think she is, Britany or Lindsey?

Your latest article on this issue: So you got the last word in.....but as you try to justify yourself, it is sort of hypocritical....like you said, if you are giving your honest "opinion" why should you feel the need to justify yourself, just because you have the forum and ability to do so? All the comments must have really gotten to you in order for you to have the last word....which is not becoming of an opinion-ist...oh well...

Just wondering -- would it still have been tacky if your wife had not been there? Lucky Dog...I mean Doug.

It was an honest and well written review by a person with mountains of musical knowledge, who's also attended more than one concert staged by Ms. Underwood.

Good grief people...you ought to feel "refreshed."

Does he sing? Does he write songs? Has he ever performed on stage? Can somebody tell me? Just because he writes about music for 17 years doesn't make him a professional at his craft. Apparently!!!

How many entertainment writers, including music, movie, and theater reviewers are, or have been, stage musicians, film producers, or theatrical directors? I'll wait so you can count on one hand.

A neurologist does not need to have cancer of the brain in order to be qualified to surgically remove an intracranial tumor. A music reviewer too does not require experience as a professional stage musician. The primary prerequisites should be excellent writing skills, experience as a journalist, and a love for a wide variety of music. Would you really want Rivers Cuomo to write a music review of a Carrie Underwood concert?
