('Bumpy' Johnson)!-the undisputed kingpin of Harlem!-who reigned SUPREME for more than 40 years, now that would probably be your most honorable mention as far as longevity in the Harlem underworld is concerned.

Would any of you guys know if Red Dillard Morrison has any connection with the 'Ice-pick red' mentioned in some of Frank Lucas stories?

I've heard Red Dillard's name a couple of times. First I heard Pee Wee Kirkland mentioned it n a book, but I really learned about him n Bumpy Johnson's wife's book. He was a no joke dude back n the day. A big time pimp (had some fine ass females) and gangster. Stood up to bumpy on numerous occasions and from wat i heard Bumpy was the man n Harlem. A real tough guy
"Bumpy the man n Harlem" If by that you mean a folk-hero or strongarm-man of the Madam 'Queen'(Stephanie st.Clair-)Casper Holstein's policy syndicate who fought dilligently against Dutch Schultz in order to defend Harlem number bankers but later reduced to a heroin dealer ("I've come to understand that in this day and time loyalty is a dollar") and a man mite only be as good as his last deed. also see documentary pertaining to 'Bumpy' Johnson and the escape from Alcatraz

The "man" meaning anything that went down ilegal in Harlem Bumpy got a cut out. Stood up to the mob at its height. Met with the founding member of the commission Lucky Luciano numerous times. Yea he started off working for Queenie but eventually went on his own and he was socially conscious as much as a gangster could be

Title: Ellsworth 'Bumpy' Johnson versus Elijah Muhammad!-the ensuing cataclysm of the 1960's. The conversation between Bumpy and Malcolm X (formerly known as Detroit Red)concerning beef with the Nation of Islam could it have been that Bumpy was only offering protection to an old friend (Malcolm X) or was there more to this story because the Nation of Islam movement challeged Bumpy's colonial powers. Also let's throw in the fact that (mob boss Joe Adonis?) had once tried in extorting Harlem number bankers including Bumpy, but it would'ent be easy as so did the Dutchman learn 2 and half decades before. What mite have happened if Bumpy Johnson live intil the year 1971?

Well according to his biography written by his fam, bumpy was only on the streets for a few years before he died so there wasnt too much time to get into a conflict with the nation but he did offer protection to malcolm but he turned it down. Yea Joey A and Fat Tony tried to extort bumpy but he told Joey A to get n touch with Lucky when he was exiled and Lucky told them not to extort Bumpy because he helped him out when they were locked up together n Dannemora n the late 30's n early 40's. Well this is all someone's word, so u can take it for what its worth

Naw that Icepick Red dude Frank Lucas was talking about was not Red Dillard Morrison cause if it was I think Red woulda got back at frank for that. Majority of them guys frank talks about i think is made up. He never was a henchman for bumpy that was a guy name flash. Tango, why would anyone brag about killin a person when they know their is no statue of limitations on a murder case and all the other times when asked he says he hasnt murdered anyone. This guy Tango (who obvisously doesnt exist)he brags about killin. I could brag about killin John Doe because i know he doesnt exist

So now I see the 'Icepick Red' who died a horrible death "Bumpy painted his ('Icepick Red')genitalia with honey and threw red ants on it" is not consistent with the notorious gangster 'Red' Dillard Morrison story but this Frank Lucas character must have one hell of an imagination.

Thanks Ant Samuel for researching and posting some useful information on 'Red' Dillard Morrison once called the most dangerous man in the country-

I understand Ellsworth 'Bumpy' Johnson was imprisoned for just about half of his criminal career but still sufficient enough time to plan the nappin' of one Pleasant avenue gang members or maybe even East Harlem genovese capo "Fat" Tony Salerno himself-

The name "Prince" Ali- has to do with his affiliation with a certain crime family administration panel/committee formed which I can't state the name of this organization or other members of it hierarchy but the title "Prince" in this case means prince of (thieves). Why do you go by the name "King Ali"?
