Even if they had been from other actors' films, they would have been played if they were popular. You missed one significant point here. I told that the songs are of only Rajesh Khanna and if Amit is worshipped there then where have the songs of his films gone? The point of discussion here is that upto what extent Amit is genuinely popular and upto what extent it is fabricated by media. Why only Amit is called as popular today? In road side if today Raza Murad or Asrani or Mukri appears publicly then still there will be crowd. But media never talks about them; because they do not manipulate or misuse media. And Amit from the very beginning doing this job and taking the supports of political persons for his own sake. Several times this has been proved even then why you people are buttering him, I do not know. In brief he is an ordinary cheap entertainer and not a great artist as has been portrayed by media by manipulation and fabrication. THIS IS UNIVERSAL TRUTH.

I am not talking abt his greatness or otherwise as an actor.

Take KBC. When amit started compering the show, even the evening & night shows of news films got affected. There were many ads & the TRP ratings were very high.
Then slowly it came down. But facts must be admitted.
He still does close to 10 to 15 films a year. His contemporaries like dharam, jeetu, vinod, rishi, shashi are nowhere.

KBC was the first that type of show, anchoring by a film personality; so people got interest on it, but laterly it was called as boring by the same people when Amit added cheap type of questions of his standard. He may be doing lot of films, but why. He himself admitted that he is doing so for earning money and so he accepts any kind of roles with today's leading heros. This can only be done by an money maker person who has no self respect. This does not relate with popularity. If Shashi, Rishi, etc. also want to perform today they may also be liked by today's audiences. Dharam has already done that and welcomed by the people. It is wrong to say that 'his contemporaries like dharam, jeetu, vinod, rishi, shashi are nowhere'. Thanks

The questions in KBC are prepared by a team & not by amit. So, the Q of including cheap questions does not arise.
Agreed that amit is playing 2nd fiddle to current heroes. But U do not expect a 67 year old to play hero now, do U?
Dharam did not have any films on hand & went & did bhojpuri films.
Recently he was seen in apne which was a home production & johny gaddar. Apne did avg.business while johny gaddar flopped.
Vinod khanna & rishi kapoor are sitting at home. U mean to say that they were offered films & they refused? No way.
Amit is still in demand even in leading roles. Baghban, virudh, khakhee, nishabd, ajnabee are examples. Many flopped but atleast he has work.
Jeetendra worked in a film called "Madam 2007" (or soemthing) which is yet to see the light of the day.
If jeetu, rishi or vinod had offers today, they would gladly accept rather than refuse & sit at home.
Sure, amit is doing films today because he incurred lot of debts. But surely no p[rodcuer will come forwad to sign him purely on goodwill. After all, it is a business.

Amitabh is not an actor but a businessmen. In all this back and forth banter, how come no one mentioned the Rekha/Bachan controversy? We do not want to read about the movies the stars are in the process of filiming. We would like to hear about interesting things about their lives. Remember, when you become a public figure, you have people interested in everything that's close to you. Before they were stars, they were willing to tell you what they had for dinner, but the moment they become famous, they don the dark shades and become holier than thou and think they're above everyone else!

Land theft from the farmers is a communal crime worthy of public discussion. I wonder to why they the media took every opportunity to sweep under the carpet on issues regarding to land theft of the farmers.? We need to brand him as that...."A theft"....an angry theft who stole poor farmers land away...and a theft who stole other actor popularity away. Dharmendra need not be surprised to why he did not win any award during his 40yrs career in Bollywood. Amit and his camp had stole his popularity and any potential of any awards to Dharam? They guy is a crook.

I have just gone through a news that Amitabh has made a comment on his own BLOG on SRK's latest quiz show about its TRP rating and the director of this programme who happened to be the director of KBC has made an objection over Amit's comment on SRK's Quiz show. Moreover, it has also been disclosed in this news that the III phase of KBC was more successful than earlier one and the III phase was hosted by SRK. What a popularity beyond all norms?????????? FRAUD, FARUD, FRAUD..........

What is strange is the postings on Amit Topix forums were contributed by linking to other actors topix forum. Contribution to his forum are being added by fans of other actors...
What a manipulation.
Still the number of postings and thread is far lower than the one in Rajesh Khanna forum...an actor who was short-span in fame and aloof himself from media exposure.
Amit may actually have no fans of his own??
