What are you referring to?
The comments are directed towards the use of using taxpayer dollars to fund the project. I read nothing that "bashes" Asians.
Shut up, grow up, go away!

I have a question. How many tax-payer dollars went into The American Swedish Institue, the Sons of Norway or any other cultural, ethnic center in this state?

Oh and by the way Tutto, there were 4 comments made prior to yours. I saw no "bashing," whatsoever. Some people seem to see racists lurking behind every tree and comment. What I see are a lot of very angry, frustrated, people that are sick and tired of seeing a government, that spends our taxes supporting foreigners who seem to have more rights and opportunities here than our own citizens.

I'm surprised you have time to post today. Weren't you planning to be out picketing the Polish American Club down the street, then move over to the Alliance Francais in Mpls and the Swedish Institute? Those are all places that celebrate European heritage - but perhaps you hadn't noticed.

No, racists are people who think a whole group of people are a certain way, or who denigrate a race based on their physical characteristics and discriminate against them. Someone who calls other people on their racism isn't a "raciest." Common misconception.

Tutto apparently finds "racism" in everything.

You have got to be kidding me. This is considered art? We should not spend a nickle on this or any other similar project. What the heck is going on with these liberals in St. Paul? They have no shame.

All built with millions of taxpayer dollars, right?

The Polish American Club has decided to close their doors. Why? Why aren't the taxpayers stepping up to the plate to save them?

This is the kind of project that the slush fund that will be created by the new constitutional amendment (if it passes)will go to fund. No thanks. If it is that important, hold some more bake sales.

"What I see are a lot of very angry, frustrated, people that are sick and tired of seeing a government, that spends our taxes supporting foreigners who seem to have more rights and opportunities here than our own citizens."

Our own citizens...I am an American citizen of Asian descent, a professional who works and pays taxes. Perhaps the poster could clarify who he or she means by "foreigners." Foreigners of color, foreigners of Western European descent, foreigners from south of the border? Go back several generations and you'll find that excepting the native americans, everyone now living here comes from "foreigners."

One wonders if there would be the same amount/level of resentment if the center was say a "World Cultural Arts Center" or "European Arts Center".

And some of you resonate implicitly as if the Asian residents/citizens are non-tax paying productive members of the community getting a "free meal" at your expense. Such lunacy yet a sad prevalent closed-minded consensus nonetheless. It is no surprise that we only want to see a reflection of ourselves and adamantly deny others not of our image their rightful accords consistent with the doctrines of this nation.

Yeah, go ahead and make the argument that this is about your tax dollars, the deficit, liberals, bridges, or whatever to justify a legitimate rant. However you want to "sugar coat" it, the truth is the truth. And it wreaks of foul xenophobic anectdotes.

St.Paul streets are in need of repairs, we need more police officers to handle gang and drug concerns, residents on fixed incomes cannot afford to pay their heating costs, and gasoline and food prices are skyrocking resulting in a poor quality of life. Let us spend money to help all the residents..not entertain a small percentage of them.
