The advertisement is deceiving. It sounds like the art if ancient Chinese dance but its really about Falun Gong as other reviewers stated. And the back of the brochure says it is a non-profit organization. Tickets are way overpriced. We paid 100 each and I felt the performance was worth about 30-40 max.

I would totally disagree, The Shen Yun shows, depictaed lots of different stories from Anciaent Chinese Myths and Legends. The backdrops were vibrant, some were in 3D and breathtakingly beautiful. The costumes were stunning and the choreography was beautiful. I felt in awe of such precise and calculated movements as the dancers moved. There certainly is a message of deep resect for the ancient people and traditions of China and a message for modern china (CCP regime) to stop persecuting innocent people but The story, fuidity and sheer talent is amazing. Well worth hundreds to see such a performance. I couldn't recoment it more to anyone..I wouldn't take Paul John watchers point of view and miss seeing something so spectacular just because he didn't enjoy it. I'd go and make up my own mind about it. I would hate for someone to miss such an elaborate show!

Is this the Homeless ballet site, too? I have heard of this phenomenon and I wonder about the legality of gathering unwilling, or at least not contracted, performers and exposing them to whatever "stuff" is and then dumping them onstage in the midst of what sounds like a frightfest of light tricks and dark frightening illusions while mad music is as you say "Booming", and when the audience has had enough or done enough then dumping the exhausted homeless in towns other than those from which they were collected. How can you sell tickets to such events? What has this got to do with Jumbotanz?
Does anyone have a source for tickets/invites? I gather that attendees are "invited" by select list and so none are essentially sold but recipients probably do sell/trade them. What say?
