One of my closest friends in Philly and Univ of Penn.I was proud to have been in his jazz band in the 50s; not many are aware of how great a jazz drummer he was.He and I played in the jazz clubs in Hong Kong together just a few months before he contracted polio in Thailand while traveling as an emissary for the United States spreading the universal beauty of Jazz(he was hired by the legendary Edward R. Murrow)!
He had a beautiful, charismatic soul, and was a talented poet.
I give my condolences to his family and have "old stories" of his wonderful essence in the times that I knew him well.
If they would like to contact me, my e-mail is [email protected]
