I'm encouraged by the number of people who voted. It's still a shame that counties have to pay for special elections not once, but twice.

Why would you buy a flag made in China? Annin has been making flags in the USA for longer than any other company.

I have a beauty, been flying it every clear day for two years & it still looks new - right down to the embroidered stars.

Blakeslee will get my vote again, if there's a runoff.

No democrats will ever get my vote again. They're destroying this country, city by city, state by state. Just look at SC, Watsonville, San Jose, SF, LA, etc. all controlled by dems and all in the shi-ter big time.

Go ahead, vote for a Democrat if there's a run-off. Here's what you have to look forward to when only one (count it) 1 Republican vote is needed to pass any tax laws in Sacramento.

Like the CALWORKS program? Like the Medi-Cal drug programs? Want Santa Cruz County taxes raised when the administration of those programs is transferred to your county along with lots of others?

Yes, all those negative ads...the only negative ad I heard came from Laird re: how BP funded Blakeslee's campaign and how he will pay them back with favors. I wonder how the largest recipient of BP funding feels about that logic? That would be Obama, by the way.

Laird was complaining about "attack ads"? OMG! What a hypocrisy and nerve that takes. If he can do that with a straight face, what other back-handed politics can we expect from him? Wow, only in SC do they buy that nonsense.

I used the County website to request a mail-in ballot but never received one. Nor did I ever receive any election board information about the election.
I wonder how many other likely voters were disenfranchised by this botched Special Election?

When G.W. Bush used a picture of the WTC after 9/11 during his 2004 presidential camapaign he was loudly critisized by the Dems and Lamestream media for taking political advantage of a devastating situation. So what does John Lard do? He uses pictures of the BP Deepwater Horizon in flames where 11 people died to try to slam Blakeslee as an "oilman" and imply Blakeslee would push for more oil drilling ergo more potential drilling accidents. These unscrupuluous and underhanded tactics used by Lard are despicable, and he absolutely does not deserve to be elected to ANY gov't. office. Besides, he wants to get in there to raise taxes on all you "wealthy" individuals out there. What a sad excuse for a politician!!

When you look at the map of Senate District 15, a few parts of Santa Cruz County were not eligable to vote in yesterdays election as they are a part of Senate district 11. The county clerks office received many phone calls from people wanting to vote that were not part of district 15.
