These bitter comments have been going on for over two years, will they ever end? or are some just trapped in the past and unable to move on. With a new policy board and a new City Manager the City has a chance to tackle some big problems sooner instead of later. Streets for one comess to mind.

I find it rather strange that Estrada called my house AFTER THE ELECTION and asked if we voted for her. She is an odd ball! Shouts out insecurity to me!

I fear what Lomita has to come with Estrada on council. Odom was a great guy and im sure he resigned from the fear and wrath of Estrada. Recall Estrada ASAP.

Many thanks to TOM ODOM. he is our hero, now we now what really goes on in city hall(actually, we already knew, just no proof). to bad the article wasnt in the paper a few weeks prior to the election. its not Odom that has cronies to take with him, its city hall that is full of cronies. if he was a city hall hack, he would have been given a raise, not fired. Thanks again TOM, we love you in Lomita. good luck the whole city counsel needs to go, can anyone say...recall???

The City of Lomita just HAD an election, the new City Council HASN'T EVEN BEEN SWORN IN YET and you're yelling, "Recall!" before they can even take their seats. Are you an idiot? Or is your love of bureaucracy so strong that you think the best use of tax dollars is a never-ending election cycle?

I saw Margaret Estrada's loud sarcastic belittling against a substitute teacher at Lomita Magnet about eight years ago on the drug walk to Lomita Park. I was so shocked by the undeserved tirade that she embarrassed herself with that I've never forgotten it. I hope that as good an administrator as Estrada may be that she learns from this ordeal and gets rid of that self important sarcastic belittling character trait. I also am offended that our side of Lomita didn't get slurried because Estrada made sure her friends streets were done - We have a lot of traffic between Flemming, St Margaret Mary and by being the alternate route for Western. We have streets with huge potholes with grass growing out of them and yet nothing was done about it. We figured there wasn't enough money and happily accepted the reality of that until Estrada's favoritism came to light. Now we're just ticked off; Not to mention the garbage situation being forced on us, especially with no opportunity for other companies to bid against Cal Met.

The streets around St. Margaret Mary and Flemming are an absolute discrace! It looks like a ghetto!

She's a small town politician.......now that she is elected she thinks she is some kind of royalty. As voters, we need to continuously remind these "elected officials" that they work for us, we do not work for them. It used to be that an elected official was just another citizen who ran for office to do some good, while still being part of the community. Now days, like all politicians from the President on down, they get elected and forget where they came from or who helped them get there. Knock a couple of them down a few pegs with citizen feedback in mass and this will begin to end!

Suminaga said "The city must move on and it will be a healthier situation if we have a new council with a new city manager without any ill feelings." I want to know what "new" city council he is speaking of. Obviously the woman who has ran the council, along with each person she has promoted recently or over the years is still going to be in power. Now together, perhaps they can find a city manager that doesn't care whether or not they are working within the city charter and for the best interest of all city stakeholders. I am sure that any new staff or manager will learn from the Odom lesson. I am glad that I no longer live in Lomita.
