interesting how at the bottom of the article presidential aspirations could be damaged by taking a vacation and not telling people or in palins case having letterman make a comment about her underage daughter.

look at some of the dems presidential candidates, blagoyovich who had aspirations is on his way to prison and obama who is currently president was best friends with an antisemitic hate filled racist. apparently taking an unannounced vacation is a bigger deal than that though

Staff confused Appalachia with Argentina. Given how Sanford has handled the education system in South Carolina, this is not surprising. Of course, he didn't tell his staff of the male escorts, either.

Wouldn't that be a great thing for someone to do while they were President? What a batch to pick from.

Second paragraph to identify him as a Republican. For Blago, he's never labeled a Democrat. For Eliot Spitzer, seven articles went by before he was labeled a Demo...buried in the 17th pararaph of the article, of course. Who said there's media bias?

I was just thinking the same thing. Considering IL is 1 for 3 with the last 3 Governors, SC isn't doing to bad. So he was MIA for a few days BFD! It's not like someone died as a result of license for bribes or he tried to sell a Senate appointment.

Nice try, wingnut. You don't have an excuse for the foolishness of one of your own, so you try to gloss it over by an attack on Obama. The people you talk about were not elected and you have no evidence of the so-called "best friend".

I think Obama should take the governors lead and go on a very long trip without communicating to anyone. Oh happy days!

Once again, straw arguments by Wingnuts, wanting to attack the other side whether or not the argument is true. The story is not about Blago. He been identified as a Chicago Democrat numerous times and associated with other Illinois Democrats. Notice how none of the wingnuts have anything to say about the story itself other than to try to turn attention to the opposition. I wonder if they are planted spies for the GOP.

Don't look at the white house, that's where most of the lies are coming from nowadays. Too bad the press doesn't report it.

Your staff, family don't know where you are. Not even your wife. I suspect within the next few days we will get pictures of him partying it up with some strange woman.

Is this the best the Trib can do is to get a piece written by a reporter from the liberal LA Times? And this reporter gets off the track with the SC govenor and brings into the article all the other GOP presidential hopefuls who have been bashed lately in the media too. Lets get the facts first before we drag in the negative comments.
