Your "backyard"? Does Argentina claim Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay, and Bolivia as well, since they are in its "backyard"?

The Islas Malvinas, then renamed Faulkland Islands(by the English),
were part of the land that Argentina won on independance day from Spain. The are joined under water to Argentina's main land.
The English came half way across the world and tried to take Buenos Aires unsuccessfully, but they did grab the islands, killing many of the islander and installing an all british population.

It is time for GB to return the land as they did with other colonies.

Britain has been in control of the islands for far, far longer than Argentina. The British first landed on the islands in 1690, while Argentine claims only go back to its general declared independence in 1816. Argentina is once again trying to create a diversion from its poor record as a basket-case economy. And any claims about inhabitants go right back to Argentina: Argentinians of European descent are welcome to go back to Europe and leave Argentina to the natives. Put up or shut up.
