What happened to the other 400? The coverage of this story greatly upsets me having donated to the ASPCA several times when I could afford it. They are making Craig Grant the poster boy of animal abuse...when the TRUTH is that ALL of the cats on this santuary would be dead if it wasn't for him. He gave them a chance when their original owners and caretakers starved them, abused them and dumped them somewhere to die. I also would bet money on the fact that not all of the cats the ASPCA "rescued" were put into good loving homes and that many in fact were probably immediately euthanized. Seems to me this was more of a personal issue with the local animal control officer being mad at this cat rescue for some reason. He looked way too happy in the video that I saw...as if he "won". The ASPCA didn't have to go in there and make such a huge spectacle of this. Instead they could have used their millions of dollars to help the sanctuary out and let the cats live out their lives in peace and quiet at the place they considered home. I've volunteered at a cat shelter where 300 cats were kept in small or medium size dog crates 24 hours a day...7 days a week....and some of them had been there for years. AND most of the crates had not one, but 2 or 3 cats in the crate. This man is doing the right thing by having the cats be free and not in cages and he should be helped in his efforts...not made out to be evil like the ASPCA and this animal control officer are doing. What do animal control officers do? Put cats in cages and euthanize if they are not claimed.

Because Grant IS the poster boy of animal abuse. Truth is, many of them are dead BECAUSE of Grant. There are other homes, other shelters. Good ones. You just have to look really hard for them, but they are around. CR was not one of them. Thankfully the problem has been solved.

Emily, well over 650 cats were sheltered and cared for by scores of caring volunteers for close 6 months. They (and me) would not put our lives on hold just to euthanize the cats. Grant thought he had about 400 cats. That right thee shows there was problems.he did not even know how many cats were in his care.so anyone took good of alk of them? Good intention is no excuse for bad judgement.

Not knowing exact numbers by no way means they couldn't be cared for. Would their care have been better somehow if he knew how many cats were around? At least he was doing something for thee acts. What do all you nay-sayers do?

People should donate to folks like him, rather then the ASPCA or PETA. They use the money for fancy toys and stupid advertisements.
Your local shelters would put that money to better use in caring for animals.

totally agree with Spokaloonian .. support your local shelters .. I do!... I don't know of this cat situation with the person you are speaking of in this forum .. but if in doubt .. help out .. don't condemn unless there is absolute cause to .. we see the sad commercials for the huge shelters/organizations ... but let's not forget the shelters right here in need of food, blankets, cleaning supplies etc ..

Too many of them. Get some buckets of water and lets get to putting them down. Problem solved in about half an hour. Dig a hole, and no more homes needed.

Though there is merit in what you say. It is not a very popular solution.

I was raised on a cattle farm. We had chickens, cows, and hogs. We were raised that if something is suffering and you can't change that, you out it down and end the suffering. Makes the most sense to me. Most of these people that preach against that, I guarantee they have no problem eating porkchops, steaks, or fish.

If you want to feel good about yourself, buy a homeless person a meal or a blanket, then pat yourself on the back.

Ascpa and Peta kill 95% of the animals they rescue, they are against no kill shelter and plan to shut them all down. Peta is considered a terroist group and idolizes Hilter and the KKK. I'm glad I don't support murders and terroist. Educate yourself.

This had nothing to do with abuse, the animal rights groups are shutting down all the facalities that save animals like Angels Gate Hospice and Caboodle Cat Rescue. Why does are goverment take the word of terriost, I'm confused?
