I can't believe it took 6 months to investigate this henious abuse and, to add insult to injury, to classify it as "Not a High Priority" is unforgivable !!!!

First, only a mental case could do such things to innocent defenseless animals. There is something very sadistic behind this. Second, who was this 15 year old boy? A man of his age with a 15 year old boy deliberatly torturing animals is barbaric.

I'm sure the laws in Arkansas are not that great for animals but, where there is animal abuse, most of the time, there is abuse to children or adults. That should give cause for great alarm.

This slug needs some MAN TO SLUG justice! Surely there are MEN or one man in his town that is willing to show him how torture hurts and that that torturing animals is NOT tolerated in a civilized society.

"Neighbors say they first reported the animal cruelty back in February. The sheriff's department confirms that, but didn't have the resources to investigate."

My GOD! Why did they allow this to continue. The law should have to answer for their neglect/ignorance. I realize Arkansas is behind times, but this is pathetic!! How many days did the Barney and Bubba system let these two perverts torture animals when it could have been stopped?!?!?!?!?!

Roxy, there obviously was no MAN power in that county! This guy is a perverted freak and so is that little 15 year old. Cowardly slugs, I'd like to see them take on a human rather than a defensless animal. I'm certain if they did take on a human who could fight back, they'd both be 6ft under.

If anyone in Hasty can read and cares that TRUE justice prevails in this case of two disgusting sub humans, contact the HSUS.

http://www.hsus.org/acf/cruelty/

Why did it go unchecked for six months? What was law enforcement doing? Who owned these dogs and why were these sadistic slugs allowed by the owner to beat and torture dogs? There are many unanswered questions.

This is a case that will draw National attention. No one in their right minds would get kicks out of abusing defenseless animals in this manner. Demand justice!

This has bother me ever since I heard it. I cant believe the sheriff's department has known about this and chose to ignore it. They are just as guilty as the other 2 sick O's. The poor defensless animals and the poor little dog they stomped, it just makes me sick and I hope they get what they deserve. The neighbors who first reported this why on earth did they not continue to report it or at least free the animals from the unhuman freaks.

Any animal abuse is needles and for the 'law enforcement' to ignore it is unforgivable. They KNEW and gave these slimebags 6 months to continue the torture. Those who let this go should be fired. To go to the lengths that these two did to torture animals for fun is sadistic. They do not deserve to be any place but jail. The HSUS wants to be a part of this? They better be! Everyone needs to send emails to the sheriff (Newton County sheriff's department) and the HSUS expressing the disgust in this case.

Backwoods ignorance is one thing, getting ones jollies out of inflicting pain on defenseless animals is another. If there are ANY MEN in that town, they’d see that justice is done.

Arkansas needs to step up to the plate and revamp their animal cruelty laws. This story is so disgusting, I would simply love to hop a plane to Arkansas and find these two POS people and beat them senseless. They deserve it, and worse. They should both be euthanized.

Yes, I hope some of the men in that area make this POS and the sadist-in-training 15 year old pay for the things they have done. I swear, I would love to SEE someone use a cattle prod on THEM. They deserve that and worse.

The reason so much there is so much animal cruelty in Arkansas is because of incidents like this- most people don't take the time to call anyone & when they do- nothing is done about it. Our state is Extremely lacking help on this paticular problem. The mountains are filled with breeding dogs & cats full of Mange, fleas, ticks and other diseases. Cows and Horses (other farm animals too) that are starving to death as well. I am not exagerating on any of this - I have lived here 41 yrs....No one knows where to start to get funding or training to get something like "Friends of the Animals" started.

Newton County is suffering great set backs. In the Harrison paper it showed that they have 2 patrol cars, one had to have the back end taken off to repair the other...

I totally believe you and it's so sad for the animals who look to humans for care. I dont see how any one organization could take on the entire state. The overall picture is too overwhelming. Each county has to stand up and do something on it's own. No organization will work if the residents of the city/county don't do their part. A good way to get help is city by city. If there is no HS, someone can contact the HSUS via email and they can advise what to do, and what organization might be available to help.

The easiest way to avoid over population and starvation is soay/neuter. I don't understand why animals are needlessly forced to suffer because of irresponsible humans. The responsiblility lies with humans to spay and neuter their dogs and cats so they do not breed. I know that many in the country do not believe in that, but they'll complain about too many animals. They should think of the animal suffering.

The other animals could also be helped. Maybe you could start with an email to the HSUS. Even though we do have a local HS, I have contacted the HSUS at times. It can't hurt to try, someone has to start somewhere.

Sorry for his loss. I'm sure he was devastated.

Is this the sheriff that waited 6 months before doing something to the 41 and 15 year old perverts who were video taping themselves torturing dogs?

There are a lot of strange things with this story. Was the breeder a family member? If not, why did the breeder give up the dogs if this pervert and his boy friend broke in and committed the sadistic acts?

If the county is as bad as it sounds,I hope the dogs/puppies are adopted to people living elsewhere.

Yes, it is the same Sheriff, the county is very cut back on funding, to the point of closing the jail completely. I didn't read the whole story, because it would go over & over in my mind and drive me nuts...

All of the abuse stories go over and over in my head and that's why I do all I can to help stop the sadists committing the crimes.

The short version is Larry Cummings and his little 15 year old boy friend are perverts who like to video tape themselves torturing dogs. The sheriff was informed but didn't do anything for six months. If a sheriff isn't doing his job (like responding when crimes are committed) he should be given his walking papers.

This story put Hasty, Arkansas in Newton County on the map but certainly not in a good way.
