Any person that would do that to a animal should taken out and be shot as they have no pity for any living things. They should be treated the same way.

Any one person having 23 dogs is a freaking fruit cake.

Does this individual have OCD - Obcessive Compulsive Disorder / hoarding issues? It is a distinct possibility. Maybe individuals should look into it before they pass judgement declaring someone a fruitcake.

This guy, if he does have hoarding issues or OCD mabe should collect non living things. He is criminal fruitcake. Just by reading "Open Minded's" i am going to pass judgement on them and say they are a Liberal fruitcake themselves.

Anyone with 41 dogs IS obviously a fruitcake with OCD and hoarding issues, possibly even a liberal, but as a person who WOULD have 41 cats if I wasn't sane and lucky and didn't want to make the evening news, I can say that it wouldn't be hard to do---the price of a vet bill to get them spayed and neutered is outrageous!!! Sure, you can get a coupon. Well, a $20 rebate coupon you receive AFTER you've had it done and paid the $200+ bill is a joke. We need some famous philanthropist to come along and set up some clinics, pay for a vet's education in exchange for work in a free clinic, something like that. I've got real people-bills to pay out of my meager paycheck. I love my pets, but if they get sick or injured, it's worse than my kids 'cause I've got insurance for them!!

WTF does being liberal have to do with whether you do or don't care about animals. Hoarding is wrong. I am an animal lover. I have an older uncle who is a hoarder. Everyone has called HSUS,everyone. It is about the most inhumane thing I have ever seen. The sad thing is, he actually thinks he is helping them and he's too old to help himself.

Hoarding is a mental disorder, not a character flaw OR political philosophy, I was being sarcastic. No one is "too old to help himself". They may not help themselves for other reasons, but not because they're "too old". Be less judgemental and try to be more helpful.

He's 80 years old and so feeble he can hardly walk. He has cancer and can sometimes can barely drive or put on his clothes. WTF do you call it? He's too elderly to take care of himself. Either way, it's a problem for him and the pets. and people just keep dropping them off, too. I don't live in that state and his kids are drug addicts.

Ok, so like I said, it's not that he's too old, he's too sick. He needs to be in a nursing home, maybe hospice if his time is short, does a visiting nurse come from the county at all? If not, he needs to be set up with one, and if he doesn't have a lot of money, the county can do that. If he refuses,(sad to say) they can name him incapacitated and take him from there. Maybe everyone has been calling the wrong agency. Social Services needs to get involved. Sad but true in todays society that these old people have to give up all they've accumulated (not meaning hoarding) for end-of-life care, but in your uncle's case, he cannot care for himself no matter how hard he tries to do the right thing by other living creatures. He's to be commended for that, at least. But he needs help. If his children won't, it's up to other friends and other family. Don't give up on him. You'll feel better about yourself if you keep trying.

His brother has taken over all his funds. These conditions come with age. but I guess it was the word OLD that got you excited. anyway, they are trying to help but with his drug addict kids around, there's not alot I can do personally. Social Services has been there quite a bit. Yes loving animals is wonderful! Having too many is a problem unless you have alot of money and a very big house with more than one person to care.

I get excited whenever anyone blames demented behavior on "getting old". It doesn't automatically come with the territory. There's help to be had out there, including charging the kids with elder abuse if need be. Financial abuse is just as damaging as any other kind, but I'm glad to hear his brother takes care of the finances, hopefully keeping funds from the druggies, it's so easy to take advantage of the sick and elderly. Good luck, Palin-Cruella, and good luck to your family.

who ever this 80 years old gentleman is has nothing to do with the person who had 23 dogs in their home. That person happens to be approx mid 60's and female.

my point was that you don't have to be old to be demented, don't blame it on age, as in the case of Palin-Cruella's uncle. Most of the cases this past year and the people charged with cruelty have been younger than 80, but they didn't get to be that way over-night, either. Mostly a matter of others not wanting to get involved until it makes the news.
