No, I see it this way I have animals and love and care for them the way a pet owner should. If for any reason I was unable to provide for them I would turn them over before I let them starve. It is cruel to tie something to a tree and not feed and water it.If it was good enough for the pet then it is good enough for the owner.

The young man they interviewed said that they got the dog when he was a boy, the dog was old so that makes it ok. Boy! We need a dog-protective services. Someone that insensitive to another living creature should never be allowed to own another animal. They also should not be allowed to procreate, ever. Evidently the owner did and this is the result.

Wow. You are a sick and disgusting human being. They should lock people like you up. Thankfully you are all wind and don't have the guts to act on your deranged thoughts. I sincerely hope you find compassion as you age because as of right now, you are a wack-a-do..

The same can be said about you.

How did he get the kitten to sit on the tee????

There are several ways.

1) Put the tee through the kitten.
2) Nail the cat's feet the ground (probably would use metal tent stakes. The plastic ones are too big)
3) Duct tape kitten to tee.
4) Juggle the kitten until it is too dizzy to run away.
Only a sick and disgusting human being could think like this. Luckily we all know that all you do is talk out of your ass (due to the close proximity of your pea sized 'brain'), so methane poisoning is the most harm you can do.

Carry on Nancy.

You need to look at the totality of her posts to realize she cares nothing for the suffering of non-human sentient creatures. She believes they are property and the 'owners' are free to do whatever they like to them. Hell she even thinks that she can torture your dog, pay a $50 fine and be done with it. She lacks empathy and compassion. She is either a psychopath or a low functioning autistic.

Sans your embellishments, his/her stance is not only logical but supported by jurisprudence throughout the civilized world. Animlas ARE property, "owners" ARE free to do whatever they like within the law, and that doesn't necessarily equal a lack of empathy or compassion. Those ARE the facts.

Now every time you hear the word kitten you will picture a kitten with a golf tee stabbed through its little body. That picture will be burned into your memory.

But don't think about it.

Really, there is no elephant in the room.

you have lost your mind squash. you are totally wrong. animals are not property and the laws are wrong, are ignored or are misinterpreted widely by the courts. yes usa blockhead lacks empathy and ocmpassion, that much is obvious. and obviously is drowning in his/her own facetious and pointless gradeschool insults and logical fallacies. the hypocritical "it's softier" pc slacker mush you pass off as absolute truth is pointless and absurd. surely you must realize you are vaiidating what is basically redundant gradeschool insults and idiotic and pointless drunken ad hominem strawmen. there is no rhyme or reason or logic to be had. sorry.

$50 is rather steep. I absolutely would vote "not guilty" on any fine that exceeded that amount. Animals don't have the right to being pain free. "Mother nature" allows them to be eaten alive. Perhaps you should try to put her in prison too.

As I have stated many times, animal abuse is less destructive to society than speeding and is about on par with illegal parking. The consequence fall into line with that. This has absolutely nothing to do with how I live my life and how I treat animals. It is my view on the appropriate consequence from a legal perspective. Simple minded people have difficulty understanding this distinction. For some reason they believe their moral code is absolute and should be adhered to by everybody. people like this generally lack a basic understanding of how morals are learned and are generally intolerant of other cultures and societies. If they were more intelligent, they would be more understanding and accepting.

Being wrong is second nature to you, isn't it. The research is clear about the strong correlation between animal abuse and human abuse. You lack empathy for non-human sentient beings, so how they are treated means nothing to you. You are devoid of any normal human emotion. A world away in Africa, humans are starving to death and killing each other, and you don't give a rat's ass because its not happening in your backyard. Had you lived in colonial America, you would have owned slaves and thought nothing wrong with it.
"We can judge the heart of a man by his treatment of animals." ~Immanuel Kant
"Cruelty has cursed the human family for countless ages. It is almost impossible for one to be cruel to animals and kind to humans. If children are permitted to be cruel to their pets and other animals, they easily learn to get the same pleasure from the misery of fellow humans. Such tendencies can easily lead to crime." ~Fred A. Mc Gran, 1895

"One of the most dangerous things that can happen to a child is to kill or torture an animal and get away with it".~ Margaret Mead

"To educate our people, and especially our children, to humane attitudes and actions toward living things is to preserve and strengthen our national heritage and the moral values we champion in the world".~ John Fitzgerald Kennedy

"Anyone who has accustomed himself to regard the life of any living creature as worthless is in danger of arriving also at the idea of worthless human life".~ Albert Schweitzer

"To inflict cruelties on defenseless creatures, or condone such acts, is to abuse one of the cardinal tenets of a civilized society - reverence for life.~ Jon Evans

"Kindness to animals and respect for all life are the only meaningful foundation for a civilized world." ~ Michael Mountain

The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated" ~Gandhi (1869-1948)

"I hold that the more helpless a creature, the more entitled it is to protection by man from the cruelty of man" ~M. Gandhi (1869-1948)

"A human being is a part of the whole, called by us ' Universe,' a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest. A kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty. Nobody is able to achieve this completely, but the striving for such achievement is in itself a part of the liberation and a foundation for inner security." ~Albert Einstein

The world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don't do anything about it.~ Albert Einstein

Luckily, you and those who think like you are in the minority.

Well gee! Now you want to break out the "is God real" argument?
Why do you suppose they call it "belief" or "faith"?

"If God did not exist, it would be necessary to invent him."........Voltaire

My belief in God does not in any way affect my ability to discern reality. However reality does make me question my belief in God occasionally.

None of which has anything to do with the fact that animals are not people and animals do not, cannot, and never will have rights. The very concept of "rights" is exclusively human and those rights exist nowhere in the natural world. Those "rights" only exist in human society.
