The DA and judge both think they are getting tough on crime and this three-time loser gets 5 years. That'll send a message to the Memphis Mob. That message is: "Albuquerque is the place to be for your next crime spree!"

Every man's work, whether it be literature or music or pictures or anything else, is always a portrait of himself, and the more he tries to conceal himself the more clearly will his character appear in spite of him....Samuel Butler......

See what the judicial system does not realize is that a few years in prision for a young person is not a bad deal. For one, 3 meals, a bed and free medical. Thats better than what they had when they were committing crimes. But as long as everyone keeps voting in the same people into office, then realize nothing is going to change our judicial system. Its a shame but it starts at the poles.

I'm not leaving the state. And I'm not "running" either. Just doing what's best for my family.

I am happy that this thug and his cohorts are getting some punishment...but why them???? Why is it that all of the out of town gangs are the ones that people are outraged about??? Or why are those the ones that are heavily reported??? Albuquerque has a severe home-grown gang problem....but those aren't reported....why?? I want to see the Los Padillas, West Side Locos, TCK, Brewtown, etc all labeled as gang criminals when they make the news....instead of the vague "gang-related" tag tossed in occasionally. This city needs to stand up and recognize that these gangs are a huge problem. But this won't happen....these thugs are related to voters...to politicians...just "neighborhood kids"....and someone throws in the "culture" that "you don't understand"....and all of the attention goes away. The Abq Police have a database of known gang members....this should be released...cause some embarrassment to those families. The huge number of local gang members needs to be shown. The Mayor's constant denial of any real gang problem needs to stop. This city is getting torn apart and the Mayor, Chief, and other politicians are turning a blind eye to the problem because they do not want to offend anyone.
