Good for AFD. They finally (hopefully)
got rid of this loser. Same guy who got fired from AFD for lying on his time card (but reinstated by the City). He's just a piece of crap who got what he deserved.

I'm thinking this guy lost his job for showing up at a Walgreens to buy booze in a fire truck and it had nothing to do with his DWI arrest. That was only two weeks ago and the results are still pending. It had to be the fire truck incident.

BTW roger18: Do you have a grudge against fire fighters?

Humorous... was this not what we told you would happen. Did not we say that if you would wait a few days for the process to complete he would be fired. Funny though even when someone receives the punishment they deserve and the public gets what they want, they are never satisfied.

I disagree....I believe the Walgreen's incident was just sort of swept under the rug and AFD would hope it went away. Third time's the charm, bozo.

As a firefighter myself, I think it's time that they start penalizing officers and firefighters more severely than others. People allow us into their homes where and when they are most vulnerable and expect to have the most professional service available, from the most professional people and they trust us with their property and valuables as well as their lives. How can things like this go unaddressed for so long? It's a miserable way to do business, and AFD should be held responsible for continuing to allow this guy to work for them.

And Roger's post is the kind that we hate to see......just because something like this happened doesn't mean that we're all bad.

Roger these men and women are hero's! My step son is a fire fighter and he like all the rest of the firefighters and policeman are my hero's and by trying to compare him to the guy that got fired is an injustice to the professionals that risk their lives day in and day out. So don't start with your jealous BS and be thankful that there are men and women out there willing to put thier life on the line for you and me, I know I am and so are alot of other people in this world.

So did APD take his Corvette or did they let him keep it?

Glad someone finally had the guts to fire the drunk firefighter.

Public servants, be they firemen or police officers, are expected to adhere to a certain standard of conduct when on duty which does not allow them to buy alcohol when driving an official vehicle or wearing a uniform. It is unfair to judge all firemen or officers' by the conduct of one bad apple. Every barrel seems to have it's share. Common sense should have whispered to this guy that getting into a fire engine after purchasing booze would shake people up. Nobody needs to have the stress of worry if their house, or a neighbors, is on fire that a drunk fire fighter could show up.

Sounds like the guy had a serious alcohol problem. Hopefully he'll get some help & turn his life around.
