An Albuquerque bar has been cheating customers for months and maybe longer by passing off cheap liquor as the good stuff, according to state investigators.

kinda makes you wonder if your gettting Grey Goose vodka or Dark Eyes Vodka. they should be ashamed of themselves. word has it on the streets that they owe the liquor distributors such as the Maloof companies thousands of dollars. Its also known that most of these companies have cut the Martini Grill off. Brian you shouldnt buy liquor at the discount stores which i know of but wont name. The distributors specially mark their bottles of liquor when they sell them to the retailers here in town. just FYI.

Thanks Martini Grill - great thing to do for Nob Hill in a "slow down" economical state - another closed building if you loose your license.

Wish you had higher standards and accountability. You make it harder for the existing and new restaurants trying to make a go of it.

That is very bogus! Their license to sell liquor should be revoked. Furthermore, I am going to tell everyone I know about their shoddy practices and boycott their business. Even if they don't lose their license, they're done in this town.

It's bad business in New Mexico to mess with our whiskey!

I can tell you that all of this is very true. The owners do this all the time. I use to work for Brian and Jenn Carson. They are bad business people and break all of these liquor laws. This is why I am no longer an employee of the establishment. They dont even pay there employees

who are the employees who allege that the owners have asked them to do this thing? have they been background checked? I have been a loyal patron for many years, and find it very hard to believe that Brian or Jennifer would do anything like what you are accusing them of! I hope you checked your sources thoroughly and are not taking "disgruntled employees" words at face value.

desertmazonian perhaps you should call the liquor distributors here in town. Southern Wine and spirits, National distributing, Premier and Maloof. Ask them how their accounts are. Im sure you didnt know that they sold Corona beer which is a Maloof product. The problem is they sold Corona AFTER they had been cut off from maloof due to nonpayment. Yet they went to the grocery stores to buy their beer there cause they couldnt buy any. Strange? no they thought they could get away with fraud and not paying their bills. I could make alot of money too my selling Old Crow and tell my customers it was Crown Royal. They got busted Desertmazonian face it!

desertmazonian maybe you need to break out your dictionary and look up the words "libel" and "slander". A news organization could not and would not just run a story, make up 22 citations, state that the owners will face felony charges just because an angry employee called them. I'm not a lawyer or anything, but Channel 13's reputation is on the line as well as the chance of being sued for not reporting the NEWS!!! I know Brian and Jennifer Carson very very well, and know for a fact that they have done these horrible things and I would be more than happy to testify in a court of law. They deserve every single thing that is happening to them. Karma is apparent here, and justice will finally be served!!!

I've ALWAYS brought people to the Maritini Grill and celebrated my last BDay there. Received the best service and enjoyed the atmosphere. I'm really depressed about this...NOW where do I take my martini lover out-of-towners? Any good suggestions readers?

I'm with you Martini Madness. I too used to go to Martini when thurs were killer and vanilla pop plays (wed I think) Check out Savoy, it is a new restaurant on Montgomery. There is a bartender there who makes the best martinis in town. Also, the atmosphere is perfect and their patio is one of the best in the city. Just ask for Robert and have him make you something special... I recommend his cucumber martini... to die for!!!

You should try The Copper Lounge. they have awesome drink specials, a nice selection of drafts and really good bar food. Plus they are building a brand new patio that is supposed to be KILLER! check it out. a very nice place.

As an update since I go there for salsa night - Martini Grille is closing at the end of June when their lease is up. They haven't paid some of their employees in weeks. I think it's sad, it could've been a nice place but the owners ruined it. I also heard the owners are going to try and move out of state to run away from charges. Where will we go for salsa now??
