You have the worst drivers in the country here. Speed does not kill but your reckless drivers do. They tailgate, they cut in front and weave. They sit so low in their seats, not to mention the drugs and alcohol you have here. This is one bad place.

I have literally driven all around the world. I'm not sure what part of the "Salt Flats" your from, but the drugs, alcohol and bad driving is worldwide unfortunately.

actually, it's all the east coast and west coast drivers moving here that are bad...i've watched the driving get worse over the last 10 years...the commuters to Santa Fe are the absolute worst.. the I-25 corridor from Alb to SF is just the pits...

And you know these two cars were from New Mexico how? What a boneheaded comment.

My prayers go to all the families who have lost loved ones today.

In regards to all the unnecessary road rage, and loss of life on ALL highways and roads, it seems to me anyway, that everyone is in a hurry to go, nowhere. But, they want to be the first one there!

As a father who is responsible for logging at least 50 hours with my 16-year-old behind the wheel before she can get her provisional license, people need to slow down. I have no idea what caused this accident but I can tell you after 40+ hours with my daughter driving at or below the speed limit, people love to go fast. We always have someone on our back bumper no matter where we are. Makes me want to wrap her in bubble wrap and never let her drive.

My sympathies and prayers to the families of today's victims.

I don't agree with Erika. My sincere condolences go out to the families, where ever they're from. But the driving here is pretty bad. I have been around the world and these roads terrify me. The answer is not, "If you don't like it then leave" I hear that too many times from ignorant people. The comment she replied to is wrong as well. Too many times people just put their one liners in here saying to leave or they hate it.

I don't know the circumstances here so i won't assume. I don't assume!!! However the driving here is terrible, and I think something should be done about it. They had a story on one of the stations last nite interviewing New mexicans about driving laws and people didn't know. I think the standards to get a license should be stricter and stricter guidelines should be held for drivers education. Speed is an issue when combined with people driving 50 in a 65. That is deadly. I've drivin in Cali where everyone is going 85-90 with no issues.

That is my input with my recommendations. You don't have to agree with them, cause I could care less if you do, but I suggest actually providing a solution to the problem rather than just complain about it or saying "if you don't like it, go somewhere else" If enough people step up with solutions, it will solve the problem, thus sending professional critics and complainers searching for a new hobby.

I think Anti NM has a point as some of the problem is lack of knowledge of traffic laws. I see so many U-TURNS at controlled intersections and I was always taught in drivers ed that this is illegal. It sure can be dangerous. I wonder if anyone in this city knows where they are going? BTW-There are bad drivers all over this country and not just NM.

So why are there so many accidents in this area, pretty much on a daily basis? perhaps a investigation is in order, or maybe some full time round the clock police presence is in order, geez I will not go near that area for any reason.

Driving in NM is pretty simple I think. Try getting around in Berlin, Brooklyn, Paris, or Budapest.
I also think drivers are getting better and this likely because of the outsiders moving into the State show good examples. An accident is an accident, an unfortunate event that can happen to anyone. RIP poor people...
