Can you imagine! A PRINCIPAL TAKING THE PART OF A PARENTof teen boys who think they're immortal, invincible, on top of the world etc. etc. We are educators teaching civility or trying to. Having to go to church! YIKES. HOW UNCOUTH.

Las Vegas looks bad anyway...in the middle of nowhere, no industry, barren, and a place to just decay away!

You look at society, and anyone with half a brain can see it. Criminals have more rights than victims, Parents or teachers aren't allowed to spank for displine. We prosicute people who are protecting thier families and property, but plea bargin with killers and violent crime offenders. We elect officals to positions of trust and they take us to the bank.We hire policeman to do a job but the criminals they arrest are back on the streets before the report is done. Maybe its time to force a change before its to late.

Oh, Reggie, tsk, tsk. You slept through Western History & geography. Las Vegas sits at the base of the Sangre de Crisco Mountains, hardly a barren landscape. In it's Wild West hay day it was the "baddest" of the bad towns which included Dodge City & Tombstone to name two. Doc Holliday owned a saloon there & that's where he met Big Nose Kate. The Earp's, Billy the Kid, & Jessie James were included in the many notorious gunslingers, to numerous to list, who all took up residence there at one time. The Dodge City Gang was formed there by Hoodoo Brown who was also elected Justice of the Peace! Teddy Roosevelt & his Rough Riders held their first reunion in 1889 at the Plaza Hotel which has been beautifully restored.

Today it's a thriving tourist town with over 900 restored buildings on the National Historic Registry. There is nothing decaying about the very pretty, historic town. Highlands University is located there with campus's throughout the state.

Las Vegas has weathered the onslaught of a lot of riffraff in it's day & it will weather through it's present problems with it's small handful of not so upstanding citizens, some with offspring who have managed to draw negative publicity to it worldwide.

I'm not from Las Vegas but I am a Western History buff. Anybody who researches it's colorful past will find it facinating, rewarding & quite an eye opener.

West Las Vegas High School is way better than East Las Vegas (Robertson) High School. If you from Vergas send your kids to West.

Good Grief, I loved what you wrote. It was very interesting. I encourage you to investigate the correct use of the apostrophe.
I have always thought Las Vegas was a charming little town.

ROFL. We were taught to remember them with the phrase "Mathew, Mark, Luke & John, hold the horse while I get on"! That brought back memories! From this moment on I will think of them as the "apostraphies"! Thank's for the laugh.

Las Vegas has been nothing but a corrupt little town from the get go. Started with hangings and murders in it's founding days nothing has still changed since then. THe politicians started off in Vegas, look at Manny Aragon, administrators stealing from WLV school district, principals involved in scandals. Nothing new in little Juarez. This town needs to be bombed. It's VERY dirty and trashy and you vegas people are rude! You're in Las Vegas, NEW MEXICO people!

Las Vegas is no different than most NM towns, with all of its corruption and scandals. There are many roads leading in and out of Vegas, you are most welcome to get on one and just leave. I am sure you will not be missed. I grew up in that part of the state and it was a good and clean fun.
I have never had any problems with rude persons there, it might just be that it was your attitude, from the start, that resulted in people being rude with you. I am sure Las Vegas, NEW MEXICO will recover from all the negatives and continue to be a decent place.

For years that district has been the most corrupt in the state. Time for the state to take it over. Of course, as corrupt as our state is what difference will it make?

All of you posting here are missing the big picture. Lopez is on PAID LEAVE! What a joke! If he did something wrong, that justified his removal from the day to day operations of the school, then he needs to be suspended WITHOUT PAY until the investigation is over.

Until this happens to all government employees they will continue doing stupid things, knowing that they will get their check every month. So, why should they care if they do right or not.

Whiskey River Crab we have a thing in this country called a Consitution and it says we are considered innocent until proven guilty. The key word there is PROVEN, and not by some old curmudgeon who sits around on his oversized laurel making decisions based on a newspaper article. Of course they are on administrative leave with pay, nothing is proven, they have only been accused. Either live with the Constitution or leave and live elsewhere.
