"My message to owners and to players is, you guys make a lot of money and you make a lot of money on the backs of fans, so do right by your fans," Obama said. "You can figure out how to spread out a bunch of revenue that you're bringing in, but do right by the people who support you.

"And I shouldn't have to be involved in a dispute between really wealthy players and even wealthier owners. They should be able to settle this themselves. And remember who it is that's putting all that money in their pockets."

{ light of the fact that President Hussein Obama and congress can't settle America's revenue...which is a lot more than what the NHL makes...this is the pot calling the kettle black...}

"Lie of the Year: the Romney campaign's ad on Jeeps made in China

Says Barack Obama "sold Chrysler to Italians who are going to build Jeeps in China" at the cost of American jobs.
Mitt Romney, Monday, October 29th, 2012.

Ruling: Pants on Fire!| Details

The falsehood originated with a conservative blogger and spread when the Drudge Report ran with it.(Tampa Bay Times illustration)
It was a lie told in the critical state of Ohio in the final days of a close campaign -- that Jeep was moving its U.S. production to China. It originated with a conservative blogger, who twisted an accurate news story into a falsehood. Then it picked up steam when the Drudge Report ran with it. Even though Jeep's parent company gave a quick and clear denial, Mitt Romney repeated it and his campaign turned it into a TV ad.

And they stood by the claim, even as the media and the public expressed collective outrage against something so obviously false."

PolitiFact has selected Romney's claim that Barack Obama "sold Chrysler to Italians who are going to build Jeeps in China" at the cost of American jobs as the 2012 Lie of the Year.

It is the fourth year PolitiFact has looked back over a year’s worth of political mendacity and selected the most significant falsehood. Last year (2011), it was the claim that Republicans voted to end Medicare. In 2010, it was the claim that the federal health care law was a government takeover of health care. In 2009, it was the claim that the same health law included "death panels."

Those are the silliest lies for the last few years <Grin> <snicker>

Eh, no worse than any of Walker Bush's rather infamous quotes, in my opinion.
