So I'm guessing progressive liberals will not want to see this movie...

http://www.wnd.com/2012/11/red-blooded-americ...

But like the original, the new “Red Dawn” taps into something primal and patriotic, two instincts it seems leftists attempt to drown out of themselves with copious volumes of Starbucks, while the rest of us pickup-driving, gun-toting, Bible-believing, red-blooded Americans can actually relate.

Consider these pivotal lines from the film:“I don’t want to sell [warfare] to you; it’s too ugly for that,” a former Marine tells the kids.“But when you’re fighting in your backyard and fighting for your family, it hurts a little less, makes a little more sense. For them, this is just some place; for us, this is home.”

Or this line:“We inherited our freedom; now it’s up to all of us to fight for it.”

Perhaps that sounds like Cold War drivel at patriotic platitudes to a leftist, but it’s downright inspirational to the rest of us – those of us who don’t think of George Washington simply as an imperialistic slave-owner or Ronald Reagan as a rich-loving, trickle-down oligarch.

Furthermore, with some clever twists on the original, amped up action and a touch of humor, the new “Red Dawn” emerges as an entertaining movie well suited for a fun night out – that is, if your undies aren’t in a bunch over teenagers shooting guns (gasp!) or Americans taking up arms to fight off your “komrades.”

And as for “outdated”? There’s a scene in the film when the North Korean minister of re-education rants about how we’ve been “victims” of a corrupt, capitalist America where “government is in bed with the tyrants of Wall Street.” His diatribe is virtually indistinguishable from what can be heard on university campuses, MSNBC or in Zucotti Park every day in 2012. It’s hard to get more relevant in America right now than the battle against communism.

Yes, it’s violent, more of an action flick than a political thriller. And no, it isn’t a thespian masterpiece. But I still had a good time cheering for the kids, who like modern-day Minutemen, refuse to let freedom die quietly in the night while their parents capitulate to the communist overlords.

Allow me to join the chorus of cheers:“Wolverines!!!!!”

You and the troll from Santa Fe must be twins - neither ever posts something positive and you in particular can't seem to keep vulgarity out of your posts - a sign of inferior linguistic capability.

You and dpb seem to be the hate sites. You wouldn't know a lie if it bit you because you are so brainwashed by the progressive/socialist administration and his captive media.

Demonizing sites because you disagree with them is neither tolerant nor intellectually honest...

Any site that does not agree with your view you and others hear like dpb would label as a "hate" site...

Fascinating...Hitler and other governments like that did the same thing...

Anyone that would disagree with them they would first dismiss and demonize then they would eventually arrest them...

Funny...from the side that preaches tolerance you have more in common with Hitler, Stalin and these governments and people than you realize...or maybe you do realize...that might even be more scary...

that's it - LOL.

And somehow that BS you are parroting was the result of careful study and consideration of factual information on your part.

What a joke!

One must be careful about this patriot label. There is no doubt Knightmare is a patriot but in the definition so are others, depending on the source of patriotism. A patriot is a person who loves, supports, and defends his or her country and its interests. What needs to be determined is country. Which or what country is referred to is the question. The United States, though not physically, at least politically, is divided in two, USA and USSA, United States of America and United Socialist States of America. Living in the same physical country one can be patriotic toward the USA, another can be patriotic toward the USSA. There are some in Russia patriotic toward the Russian Federation, others are patriotic toward the Old USSR and want it back, then there are others, Don Cossacks, who have declared independence from Russia, formed Cossackia which the Kremlin doesn't recognise but the US does. The Don Cossacks are patriotic toward Cossackia, not Russia. Irrelevant to the USA and USSA but emblematic to the North American situation. As a PS, Hitler and Stalin had more in common than most acknowledge. A safe cracker and a purse snatcher are both thieves, just different modus operandi.

the nutcase actually posted that there is a "United Socialist States of America." Where is is the wisdom in that?

We all know your hobby is reposting outrageous slander and lies. You have too much time on your hands. If you think that deserves anything more than simply being dismissed, you are wrong.

Knightmare, as much as I value your stance on other matters, you CAN be a gun-owning, Bible believing, red-blooded (Type O+, thank you) American and NOT drive a pickup.(1985 Toyota AE86 Liftback). You can be Liberal in wanting women to have access to abortion, contraceptives, etc. and "Conservative" in the inalienable right for every American to own firearms. These movies are sick in the sense that they promote hatred. In the first movie, towards Russians and Cubans. That always carries over to Russian-Americans and Cuban-Americans. In the sense that invading the USA is so ridiculous, that movie-makers made the first such movie: "The Russians Are Coming! The Russians Are Coming!" into a very popular comedy featuring Alan Arkin and the luscious Andrea Dromm (of United Airlines commercial fame: "Is this any way to run an airline? You bet it is!") It is also a way to portray our country as overly vulnerable to invasion and occupation. Hell, even in Europe, European countries have had the good sense in the last two world wars not to invade SWITZERLAND, for G*d's sakes, because with every Swiss household armed to the teeth, and its mountainous terrain, it would be a suicidal proposition. And the Swiss servicemen take home SELECT-FIRE WEAPONS not military-look-alikes. As far as I know, civilians are not barred from owning such military weapons either. It's not communism we have to fear, and Jesus, by definition held some "communistic/socialistic " beliefs- it's TOTALITARIANISM wearing ANY "mask" you could think of- whether from the right or the left, whether based on secular beliefs or religious beliefs.

Look at Hollywood's pattern of conduct. We lose post-WWII skirmishes, so Hollywood makes movies about heroic "go back and rescue MIA missions" with
Robert Stack, Sylvester Stallone and others; we invade Panama and Grenada, Hollywood makes movies about the USA getting invaded! Everybody knows what a bunch of G*dkess blood-suckers lawyers are, so Hollywood and TV writers go out of the way to portray them as stand-up idealists who fight for the little guy and constantly take up cases for little or no money. Don't let Hollywood brainwash you. It's not a "black and white" world- there are lots of shades of gray involved. And by the way, those are the COLORS of the Intelligence Community: Gray & Black.

One final note: General & President Dwight D. Eisenhower was THE FIRST ONE to warn against the MILITARY-INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX ALLIANCES. General Douglas McArthur BELONGED TO THE ACLU.

I actually can see your point...but...the world lives or tries to live in the grey areas to escape accountability...

Ultimately it is a movie...a fictional movie...

And any movie can stir up passions...some right...some wrong...look at Batman the dark knight rises...

Or what about all the people that said that Ozzy and Black Sabbath and rock would make people turn out to be satanists and serial killers...

There is truth to what we see and hear that will have us act a certain way what we "feed" on is what will come out of us...

I like how in your post you knowingly or unknowingly compared opposite views that many people hold...

How can one champion the Bible while believing in abortion {sorry freedom for women to choose...that's the proper redefintion} or how can one champion patriotism and yet hate their fellow americans from the same nationality that they are at war with?

And you're right...ultimately it is nothing more than more of the media manipulating the thoughts and minds of people...

I don't know how G*d feels about abortion. Really. Not trying to be a wise guy. G*d stood ready, until the last minute, to have Abraham sacrifice Isaac. And there was the case of Jephthah's daughter (Judges 11:29). He promised G*d that if won a victory over the Amalakites, he would sacrifice whatever or whoever came out of his house first on the day he returned from battle. Guess what? It was his daughter and she WAS sacrificed after a short sabbatical. Leviticus 27:1-8 places a monetary value on men, women and children. It goes on to say: "If anyone vows THE VALUE of a person to the Lord and wishes to discharge that vow". Meaning, say you donate to the Lord what each person is worth IF you pledged to donate the value of a person. BUT,if you go on to Leviticus 27:28, "Nothing, however, that someone vows UNCONDITIONALLY to the Lord may be redeemed.(NOTE: If you pledge that thing or PERSON, not their value), NOTHING HE POSSESSES, BE IT HUMAN OR ANIMAL, OR FIELD OF HIS ANCESTRAL PROPERTY. What is vowed unconditionally is especially holy and belongs to the Lord. A HUMAN BEING VOWED UNCONDITIONALLY CANNOT BE REDEEMED BUT WILL BE PUT TO DEATH".(capitals mean "emphasis added"). So, apparently, there WERE instances where human sacrifice were made in ancient times. Now, I also don't know how G*d established life- only how MEN interpret the establishment of life. It could be argued that until the fetus developed a circulatory system of its own, it is not alive. Because BLOOD is the basis of life, and without blood of its own and a circulatory system of its own to move it along, some could argue there is no life at that point. I don't know. I'm not a theologian. I do know that generally BIRTH marked the beginning of life- except for the Chinese who begin counting from the moment of inception (ironic, ain't it?!) for astrological purposes. I don't condone LATE STAGE or PARTIAL BIRTH abortions, but the use of pills RU86 or whatever it is called, or the "morning after pill" I'm all in favor of it. Better a child not be born at all than he/she grow up unwanted, unloved, unprovided for and under the roof of people who will use it for financial gain. I note that there are no mentions in the Bible of what happens if a woman happens to be pregnant and found guilty of a capital offense. If scripture HAD mentioned that there was a defense that no woman shall be put to death if she were pregnant, THEN I might be persuaded to think the ancients believed that a fetus was a human life, i.e., that her execution was barred because they would be executing her unborn child as well as her. Because the Tanak (Old Testament) is silent on the subject, I don't know how they felt about where life began. Can you follow what I am saying?
