Good post. Another way to go green is NO more residential grass lawn. Especially in the desert Southwest.

Don't like a lawn or a green one, don't have one or don't water it and it'll turn brown.

You have your water, we have ours, but you and I have discussed this already haven't we?

I'm referring to all the states in Southwest. New Mexico included. The Anasazi is one good example of a civilization force to move because of the lack of rainfall. Are education program would help you.

We could certainly survive with a few less golf courses around here. I have never seen the attraction of hitting and chasing a stupid little white ball. If aliens are secretly observing us, golf has got to be one of the things that makes them think we are crazy.

"Are" education program?

Everyone was a civilian at the time of the Anasazi, I'm sure.

The Anasazi populated this general region (not any of present day OK) from about 300 AD to roughly 1300 AD with the apex of that population around 1100-1150 AD. Few dispute that a dry climate for many years took a toll on them and likely was a major reason why they left, dispersed, or shall I say dissipated to the extent they did.

So from this condition you extrapolate that the region will suffer thew same occurrence now, death and semi-extinction? Hmmm, possible, but times are much different now and if that lack of rainfall were to continue, I doubt any form of water conservation would compensate. Why? Because people nowadays have greater mobility than they did not have 900 years ago. We can leave fast and easy, they couldn't. Conservation didn't work for them either obviously, particularly with a population much smaller than NM has now. So much for your 'the-sky-is-falling' theory. Next time I pass through Norman & OKC I'll be sure to stop a moment and irrigate the landscape just for you<G>.

Some water conservation now is smart, meaningful and prudent. I can understand huge acre+ lawns and golf courses irrigated with "clean" water, but many have very small lawns and several courses use "gray" water for irrigation, and probably half of NMs population has none at all.

Returning now to our regularly scheduled program...

Several irrigate w/ gray water, all the city owned ones(4) IIRC. Overall I agree, this isn't a superb climate IMO for enjoying a game spoiled by the presence of a little white ball.

Give me a 45 (I want a model 1911) & a target and I'm a happy camper<VBG>! Care to join me LV?

Yes, Colt 1911 is one of the finest semi-auto handguns ever made.

But for target shooting, my favorite is my Ruger 10/22 carbine.

The return on the type writer stole the - between the A and r. Bring back memories? The gray water, an excellent idea to expand, just think in the past with gray water for your cacti, sage and desert willow.

Daily Horoscope for May 24

Leo

You have your head screwed on the right way when it comes to thinking about work and other important areas of your life. In fact, you're uncharacteristically practical and efficient. No one will be able to fool you. Ideally, you'll prefer your own company while you're doing all this because it will help you to concentrate more fully and not be distracted by what's happening around you.
