I am a Democrat, but not an atheist, just not judgmental like Republicans who think they have a one way ticket to Heaven.
Since you're now traveling down a path you don't really want to go, I'll refrain from addressing YOUR 'sex' innuendo.

You're not judgmental? ROTHFMAO! Wow, you certainly had all of Topix fooled<G>!

Anyway, the employee who was forced to listen to the religious stuff should *NOT* have received a cent, however the person who forced it on him *SHOULD* have been *FIRED* for doing it!

Emphasis only for the person I was responding too since she likes to take me to task for every minor thing or read way more into a post than was intended<G>. I was going to use the tilde but it didn't show as well.

Hey, you are the one that made the initial sexual innuendo. Don't like it when the shoe is on the other foot, too bad.
No, I am not judgmental, but I do state the facts, sometimes they aren't pretty.
I am glad the employee won the lawsuit! Hopefully it will show this "preachers", that they can't force anyone to do their will. I do agree that the "preacher" should have been terminated.

I agree. The employee lost income and was harassed. A monetary award is appropriate.

That's appropriate if, and I say IF - that the employee WOULD have been promoted. We assume he might have been but don't know for sure. It appears the jury award was about the religious aspect, not the failed promotion(s).
The Albuquerque Journal reports that James Chavez won an $180,000 award on his claim that his supervisor retaliated against him for the exercise of his First Amendment rights and another $100,000 in punitive damages for the supervisor's conduct.

There ya go again, your spin, and again taking it out of context, which is why I used astrisks. Lets see if you can follow this time w/o them. I said in post #15
If so, whom do they call to when they have an orgasm?
My comment wasn't about sex per se but rather an atheist perhaps calling out "Oh God!" Read the entire post, then respond - FOCUS!

You talk about my spinning things out of context. What a joke! Yeah right CD, that is exactly what you meant, NOT! Keep telling yourself that is what you meant, maybe you will soon believe yourself.

I bet if the shoe had been on the other foot, or it was anyone of us on Topix, we would all be agreeing that a monetary settlement was the right thing.

Lol, take off the blinders, smell the roses, the coffee - expand your horizons<G>. Had I wanted to speak of sex in that respect I'd not have done so in this thread.

Your inability to willingly comprehend and stubbornness are your own worst enemies!

I have had to put up with inappropriate behavior by supervisors on a few jobs. It is hell. I'm glad he won and he deserved the award.

I worked for a woman once and was harassed several times. She finally quit thanks to her nasty attitude, to the pleasure of all who worked for her. Same with a few guys.

So what was the award for - potential lost wages -OR- the actions of a supervisor? The article touts one, the details the other.

Either way, he deserved the award, imo.

For the harassment probably, for lost wages, no way.

It will be interesting to see what the water utility does about John Stomp given both the city and county are partners in running it. He should be fired IMO, there was no excuse for his action(s).
