So I hear that President Obama is still President and congress is largely the same. So despite disapproval ratings at historic highs in order to try and change things the American people vote for...no change...

Alright...fine...

Congratulations to all you who supported President Obama for re-election...

Last night I was thinking of the conservatives next campaign...the "believe" campaign...

Who believes in YOU?

Give a man a fish he'll eat for a day, teach a man to fish he'll eat for a lifetime...

Who is the one that believes in YOU?

The one that gives you a fish or the one that teaches you how to fish?

The progressive liberals give you the fish so that you will continue to be beholden to them...they own you as long as you continue get their handouts...

But conservatives want to teach you how to fish...teach how to go out and live...so that you aren't owned by anybody...

Take comfort, KnightMare, in Romans 13:1-2 and Romans 13:6. As the polls closed my prayers were for God to let the best man for the country and the world to win the election, regardless of political affiliation. In some contests, like the one between Herr Heinrich and Heartless Heather, I voted for an Independent.

BTW, you are wrong about the "no change" voters. Things take time. For an economy that was the worst since the Great Depression, it also takes time. Look at the Great Depression of 1929. It wasn't until the United States joined the rest of the free world in war against Germany, Italy and Japan due to the Pearl Harbor attack on December 7, 1941, that the United States began to get out of its economic funk and prosper again. TWELVE YEARS and a world-wide holocaust for us to pull out of that. Let us be grateful that it's only been 4 years since our modern "depression", caused by greed, permissiveness, corruption, etc. is giving signs of coming to an end. For reference look at that overturned luxury liner in Italy- that's only a SINGLE SHIP we're talking about, and it hasn't been raised upright yet in a year's time!
Major projects take time- Rome, and its adopted child, the Catholic Church were not built in a day.
Hell, it's been 2,000 years and Jesus hasn't come back yet!!!

It wasn't only greed, permissiveness and corruption by congress...it was also the American people...go to a CostCo and wait in line forever just to get in before it opens...

The Bible mentions that during the last days people would be consumed with buying and selling...

And so we are, aren't we?

Bank stocks push Dow below 13,000

NEW YORK (CNNMoney)-- A sell-off on Wall Street gained momentum Wednesday, with the Dow falling below 13,000 for the first time since Sept. 4, as investors focused on how President Obama plans to avoid the fiscal cliff after he won re-election Tuesday night.

Dour forecasts about Europe's economic growth and a slowdown in Germany added more pressure.

If lawmakers fail to address the simultaneous onset of tax hikes and spending cuts that will be triggered on Jan. 1, they risk throwing the U.S. economy back into a recession and drive unemployment up even higher.

Fitch Rating said Wednesday that Obama needs to "quickly secure agreement on avoiding the fiscal cliff and raising the debt ceiling," and cautioned that failure to do so "would likely result in a rating downgrade in 2013." Fitch has so far maintained its AAA rating for the United States.

As investors weighed Obama's win and what it means for regulation, shares of coal and energy producers fell sharply.

And that the whole fiscal cliff nonsense was caused by the threats by the teabaggers in the house of reps to tell the world we would not honor our debt and their subsequent failure to do their job in deference to a lobbyist. Perhaps now they will put country and the economy above Norquist and their attempts to take down the president.

Daily Horoscope for May 19

Scorpio

There are days when you feel you can't say or do anything right, but happily this isn't one of them. In fact, it's a wonderful day in which everything goes well and it's remarkably easy to get on well with whoever happens to be around. Not that you want to spend your time with just any old person. You'd much rather get together with some close friends or that special someone in your life.
