Think about it, and be honest with yourself. Do the trite cliches still work?
who are you to say the NRA does not represent gun owners? I think over 4 million members out there would disagree with you. Aurora, Columbine, Newton, and Ft. Bliss were all done in "gun free zones." Doesn't that click in your thick skull! You are the one using trite cliches. Your talk of rational means only your way will work - WRONG!!

What a nasty thing to say to a U.S. combat veteran who put his life in harm's way to protect your right to spew hate and ignorance. GFY

14th amendment on that abortion thing. Have a nice day, twit.
Lets see...we haven't heard anything from Iraq lately...a republican won that one...

Now a progressive liberal is in office...and we've lost afghanistan, pakistan, egypt is gone to the muslim terrorists, syria is in civil war, turkey is on the edge...it's vietnam in the middle east all over again...

I support actually winning these wars...as opposed to getting our rear ends kicked...

You mentioned the draft huh?

Interesting...I'll give you one thing...it seems you didn't want to be there...but you were better than other draft dodgers either on the democrat side or republican side...like many of our politicians were...

Interesting, sounds like you attend the Westboro Baptist Church. Cant get your facts straight, and you don't care for reality. I bet you stand at military funerals with signs that say, "Good Another Dead Soldier Because God Hates Liberals". Twit. You seem to be the only "c"hristian spewing hate today.

Pawn posing as a knight is simply a dillusional hater babbling his BS for all to see. His mental capacity is challenged at best and completely lacking any thought of others -- just a pawn for the extreme right. A pathetic vision of hatred and bigotry created by a belief in fairy tales and illusional beings, a JOKE to critical thinking and truthfullness: A liar and a fool spouting programed propaganda, nothing more.

<quoted text>No, a cliche is a trite saying that has lost it's meaning. Cold dead hands. Only criminals... CD, gun control is using both hands? Pish. Gun control is ensuring that the looneys don't get guns. Gun control means real background checks. Gun control means limiting the amount of ammo one weapon can fire without having to reload; ie, the 911 tape of Auroa shooting with 30 shots in 27 seconds. Gun control means military weapons are kept out of the hands of people likey to use them against innocent strangers. No, I'm not rambling, I'm stating a point that a true majority of Americans want. I don't want your guns, I want a well regulated adherence to sanity when we discuss gun control. The NRA does not represent honest gunowners, they represent the gun sellers. Their business is to scare you into believing that we want to take away your guns. Wrong. Most Americans just want a rationale approach to limiting the escalating slaughter, without hype and hysteria on either side. Do you really want another Auroa, Columbine or Newtown? Of course not, both are meaningless comments that have no bearing on anything. The real issue and on a much bigger scale than gun control is mental illness. That is where we have failed ourselves by not addressing that general issue long ago, and now we are paying the price for ignoring it.

I've no use for an assault weapon (fully auto) and doubt many others do either. However fully auto isn't the crux of the legislation, semi auto is, larger clips and all manner of other things - so it appears. That's why I say the devil is in the details.

Now on another note, if you check your newspaper you'll see a 16yo in AZ just shot another in a school w/ a shotgun. Will those be next? Point being that fully auto weapons are rarely used for such massacres but that's what the zealots are keying on to get a foot int he door and control ALL guns if at all possible. You and I both know that's where this whole thing is headed. My concern isn't AWs per se but rather where this entire scenario of control is going, when we also know the mentally ill are the problem here but do not address that. Be assured the MI problem is much larger than just its entry into gun control.

And just the beginning...take a look at Bloomberg and his restrictions on pain pills in Hospitals/ER's and wanting to restrict the amount of pain pills you have in your cabinets because they pose an abuse problem. Pills safes and background checks. Politicians are now trumping (pardon the pun) the physicians. Just like they have the military etc.etc..

I see the JudgeIt! queen got to your post already<sigh>.

You're right. That's how politicians deal with societal problems, they deflect and misdirect away from the root issue. Just like gun control & mental illness for instance. People ofttimes do the same things, laying blame where it doesn't belong because they do not have the ganas to address the true issue(s). Nobody wants to recognize that many make poor choices(in part). Its easier to demonize many things vs facing the hard truths and addressing them.

I think Bloomberg is onto something. Addiction to pain killers etc. is a mental disorder. Google the mental status and psychoactive drug use of the mass murderers over the last 20 years. The Health System will be run by politicians. Just like insurance did for physicians in the 80's. The politicians have run our wars well also...give them a chance.

From the horse's...Bloomberg:

"THE CITY HOSPITALS WE CONTROL,so...we're going to do it and we're urging all of the other
hospitals to do it, voluntary guidelines. Somebody said, oh, somebody wrote,‘Oh then maybe there won’t be enough painkillers for the poor who use the emergency rooms as their primary care doctor,’” the mayor said on his weekly radio show with John Gambling.“Number one, there’s no evidence of that. Number two, supposing it is really true so you didn’t get enough painkillers and you did have to suffer a little bit. The other side of the coin is people are dying and there’s nothing perfect….There’s nothing that you can possibly do where somebody isn’t going to suffer and it’s always the same group [claiming],‘Everybody is heartless.’ Come on, this is a very big problem.”

In the same interview, Mr. Bloomberg stressed the initiative’s simple rationale is to prevent extra pills from piling up in the cabinets of New Yorkers who no longer need them, where they can pose a health risk if they’re abused.

Isn't this special? It looks like dpb and some of his brethren have spent all day skewing the vote!
It doesn't matter, buvola. Americans are "voting" at the gun stores, gun shows and even pawn shops.
The people that elected J.R. Berry around about to turn a sharp left when they come back from the gun stores and gun shows, hehehe.

I have to agree. Knowing how Albuquerque, and New Mexico folks feel about their guns in general, there's no way this vote hasn't been artificially tampered with.

Oh, BTW, Mayor Berry, if you're following Topix. FMB never meant "F___k Mayor Berry". It's an invocation of our folk hero, Fire Marshall Bill!
