I know the military tries hard to keep dual military spouses together. I wonder where her new deployment is at.

God speed to both of you. I was an AF Career Officer's wife. My husband went for 30 & flew multi engine jets. I know well the hardship of seperation but the plus side is appreciating the time you have together more.

Don't want to ...don't enlist..and then cry about it when it happens... Hud, being since you are so intelligent and all...maybe you should get the whole story...I know the couple and neither of them were on Active Duty...they were IRR SOLDIERS...who had gotten off of active duty and were recalled...That however is irrelevant, the whole point of the story is that there are 1000s of SOLDIERS on a daily basis making life altering sacrifices to give you freedom to run your mouth...and about something you know nothing about...Since you proclaim to be such an expert, why don't you go enlist in the military and go make the same sacrifices that these brave souls are doing...instead of sitting at home in front of your computer insulting them online...Oh and maybe you should look at the video one more time...They didn't complain about servicing our COUNTRY...only about being seperated from each other for almost two straight years and the fact that when she returns they will have been married for over seven years and spent only three together.

The whole point of the story is to recognize that there are people across this great country of ours who make sacrifices for the rest of us. We need to recognize these people and praise their sacrifices. Josh and Robin are just two out of the hundreds of thousands of troops who are putting their lives on the line in these tough times. I saw the piece and I didn't see any whining. A Vietnam veteran talking down on the current generation of soldiers is horrible. If you are truly patriotic and supportive of your fellow troops then you should never talk down on them. The point of the story was to recognize the sacrifices that some of us have to make in these trying times. How ever the news channel may have spun the story or portrayed it is irrelevant. Josh and Robin are real heroes.

My point was just that ...they are not the only ones going through this maddness...So the question is why, out of the thousand of military couples out there, did they, this couple, feel inclined to call the press? No one in my era even dreamed of calling out to the press. We just did our job with the understanding that being apart to protect our loved ones and preserve our freedoms was the way it is.

So who told you they called the press? Do you know them or the producer who put the story on the news? Why are you making such assumptions? Just be proud and stop talking down on them.

Rhonda and HUD...I just arrived at Ft Bliss from Missouri....headed back to Iraq next year again... and I would like to interject just a tidbit...incidentally, El Paso is a cool city I think. Anyway, Rhonda I can see what you are saying BUT, I have seen some whiners in the active military...NOT to say this couple is whiners HUD...let me make that clear. On that note, we all in the military are praised by many Americans on a daily basis...some have paid for my meals in the airport before I headed out for Iraq but the best treat of all was receiving a handshake and a "thank you". I believe what may be transpiring is that HUD served in a very different era in a very different war...he's the "old schooler" and there's nothing wrong with that. Rhonda, look at that "heinous" war they served in...and the thanks they received when they returned to the US. It was terrible...now how would that "go over" today if we came back and got off the plane and was "spat" on. I can tell you it was a different time and era and guys like HUD still remembers America for that and I can't say that I blame him. What he's asking is that why did they call the press when others like them didn't. On the other hand, I had a soldier in Korea who had been split up for a longer than normal, basically passing each other on flights as they were heading to their new assignments and he asked to speak to the Chaplain. But, although the military has a "married couple clause", he was a new soldier, and while in Korea, his spouse signed up and that's how it happened...I'm sure the next reassignment would have linked them together. But, it does put a strain on couples and yet, there are some whiners, even in the active army. So, in the interest of being "comrades in arms" you guys are both correct....I've seen both scenarios and can see both sides....I'm sure you both would shake hands if you guys met in person....lol.
