jer is a fake! He is just trying to pull your leg. He is just acting stupid, which is stupid in itself! In other posts in the past he can write coherently. Maybe if we ignore him, he'll go away.
Thanks. Consider it done ;-)

And to think I actually wasted good thought on my post calling him ignorant! I'm getting older now, and don't have many original thoughts left.

I never understand these "somebody's being investigated for something" stories.
lol

I mean, couldn't the news be filled with stories like that?

"Some guy killed someone somewhere."

"Some ex wife did something to one of her ex husbands, it is thought."

"Teens in a town somewhere did something illegal on homecoming night."

"Financial records are being looked into somewhere which pertain to a business in an undisclosed city somewhere along the Pacific Rim."

Well, I suppose we have this suspect's gender. Which is a LOT in such stories of recent months.
lol

As for teachers...when did so many of them get so horny for students? Maybe they ought to cut the school day and school year. I wonder if teachers are spending just too much time with kids?

Who would want such hours other than pedophiles. Even the female teachers in recent years seem to be in "education" only as a means of getting knocked up.

Revamp healthcare and then the public school system (say I)!!!

The law needs to find the person that tipped this guy off,and when they convict him if he is guilty find a cell for the person that warned him.

Nobody "tipped this guy off". I surmize that the news reporter calling him about the investigation tipped him off pretty well. All you over zealous, under informed people need to stop forming split-second, over emotional opinions of something you know very little about. Instead, wait until more information is released so you can make a calm, informed decision.

You folks are putting the cart before the horse. Let the investigation run it's course before you condemn someone.
What if charges were brought against you and you knew the were false but the media and the public considered you guilty before you could prove the charges false.
I hope you folks aren't the typical ones chosen for a jury in New Mexico
Nobody said he was guilty but there is evidence of a crime if computer were taken - requires a warrant with affidavit (Proable Cause - Sworn and issued by a judge). Also where is he gone for a week did he run? Maybe a friend or relative? Already had one teacher in school taken video up little girls skirts and he was picked up in Colorado...Folks have a right to say how they feel just like you!

They sure do. I just think it's too many peoples opinion that this man is a child molester, Some, like the one I quoted, and it seems you as well, believe any friends and family who might put him up are guilty of a crime too. What if those people believe that there is a possibility of the suspect being murdered if they were to release him to the system. I don't doubt many on here would say he deserves it. By the way, the opinions of people on these forms are not inconsequential; Deciding what to believe IS a decision.

Just so you know. Mr. Doak was not working with disabled children, he was working with "gifted" teens that are involved in special education because of their higher than average IQs. The reports make it sound like he was teaching 'vulnerable' children with disabilities, which is not the case and it is the opposite.

Another assumption is that gifted kids are assertive, self advocates, who are not 'at risk' as are studeents at the 'other end of the spectrum'. Many students who are 'gifted' are not necessarily outgoing, assertive, or more prone to disclosure inappropriate things. So, to state that the students who the alleged teacher is teaching are somehow in a different category is an incorrect assumption. And, time will tell whether it was this actual person who was doing the downloading, or possibly another household member of this other person... The facts will present themselves

It seems to me (a former 2x gifted student), that, while to label all gifted students as assertive self advocates is incorrect, to distinguish them from the lower end of special education is critical. The media statement "he teaches special education and great books" was incredibly misleading and led to bird posting many long, heart-wrenching letters about his daughter. My point is, the reason it was even released that he was a special education teacher was to get people even more furious than they would be over a regular education teacher.

Not sure if that really matters. I'm a veteran teacher, by the way, and a parent. I would fully support a pre-employment psychological evaluation - it's required for cops, why not for teachers?

Who would want those hours? How about people who get off their fat asses and like to spend time outside? How about people who like to spend time with their families before their children are born? Geez, think before you post. You're an idiot.

I find it sad that this teacher who recently started his career is now having it shredded to pieces over something that is still in the "invetigative stage". I find it incredibly sad that in this great country of ours people have forgotten that a person is given the right to be presumed innocent until proven guilty. Many of you are just jumping to conclusions and drawing your opinions from an investigation that isn't even complete... Take Swammi's advice and wait until all the info is there so you can make a wise, informed decision.

theres another male teacher on administrative leave at Manzano high school for apparent misconduct with a female student. Why hasnt the news heard about this??? Shouldnt parents be aware of these things going on at our local schools? Channel 4, maybe you should investigate!!!

Mr Doak worked with gifted students, not handicapped ones. Rio Grande was the only school at which he had taught. He is a young lad and a graduate of a very prestigious university. Also, he is innocent until charged, tried by a jury of his peers, and convicted. This is rediculous.
