I keep 2 books going at a time. One audio while walking (Ice Limit by Douglas Preston & Lincoln Child. To Kill a Mockingbird in paperback. Never had to read it in school so I though I'd give it a whirl. I'm enjoying both.

Both are pretty good. In school I had read To Kill A Mockingbird...I found it a bit...the writing wasn't as technical as some others and more flowing...

Ice Limit is a good book too...

Preston & Child are a good team...

{Same here with reading multiple books at a time...}

I often have a 3rd going to, on my Kindle, usually a western<G>. I've read a lot of DP & LC books, well written and hold the readers interest, as do their various singles (not co-written).

Have you read the "Milagro Beanfield War"? If you've lived in NM for awhile, it will keep you laughing. The verbiage, mannerisms and all other elements of the book are sooooooo NM. Excellent read, and the movie is top shelf too! I've 2 others by Nichols but have not tackled them yet.

Seldom do I have time to read for fun.

I working on a project involving natural gas in the Marcellus Shale of the Appalachian Basin, and came across this very interesting paper
http://www.pnas.org/content/109/30/11961.full...

The authors make a good case for the mixing of deep brine (where the petroluem is found) with the shallow water. If you are interested, there is also a rebuttal letter and the author's reply.

My feeling about fracking is that, since we have used all over the USA for decades, where is all the horrible pollution? This paper provides good evidence that there is some mixing between the deep brine (where the petroleum is found) with the shallow fresh water,but does not conclude that fracking created these hydraulic connections. What do you think?
