Don't forget the shareholders. I'm sure they are reaping the benefits as well.
There should be a law that if a company busts then the people in charge should not be compensated for it with bonuses and huge buyout entitlements.
Actually the shareholders are not reaping profits, they are suffering losses as the employees are.

All thanks to the Bakers Union who would not agree to a rollback on wages and benefits.

Even the Teamsters agreed to that to help keep their members working.

Then maybe the CEO's shouldn't have given themselves a 300% raise either.

My take on all major corporations is that the CEO, CFF, COF and others at the top not be allowed to give themselves pay raises but must present the raise to the annual stock holders meeting and let the stock holders vote on it.

Same goes for all elected officials from the city council to the President, let the voters decide how much if any raise or lowering of pay.

And include all benefits with a pay raise, meaning medical, car, fuel and anything else they get.

In the case of Hostess they got the BK Judge to grant them such a hefty bonus and screw the workers out of their retirement fund.

Vote that Judge out of office when he comes up for re-election.

To everyone bitching and moaning about Bimbo perhaps buying out the rights to produce Twinkies, have any of you actually considered that they might just make them better?
Look at the ingredients on an American soda, and then its Mexican counterpart. In Mexico, they use (gasp! shock!) actual sugar; here we use GMO corn that results in higher than normal fructose when processed into oil. You can taste the difference; Mexican Coca-Cola simply tastes better.
You do have a point here...and it might not be that bad...

Myth: Eating too much sugar causes diabetes.

Fact: The answer is not so simple. Type 1 diabetes is caused by genetics and unknown factors that trigger the onset of the disease; type 2 diabetes is caused by genetics and lifestyle factors.

Being overweight does increase your risk for developing type 2 diabetes, and a diet high in calories from any source contributes to weight gain. Research has shown that drinking sugary drinks is linked to type 2 diabetes.

The American Diabetes Association recommends that people should limit their intake of sugar-sweetened beverages to help prevent diabetes. Sugar-sweetened beverages include beverages like:

•regular soda
•fruit punch
•fruit drinks
•energy drinks
•sports drinks
•sweet tea
•other sugary drinks.
These will raise blood glucose and can provide several hundred calories in just one serving!

See for yourself:

•Just one 12-ounce can of regular soda has about 150 calories and 40 grams of carbohydrate. This is the same amount of carbohydrate in 10 teaspoons of sugar!
•One cup of fruit punch and other sugary fruit drinks have about 100 calories (or more) and 30 grams of carbohydrate.

That is what the Board and Shareholders are able to do. They obviously gave it a pass. And it is still not a government owned business, so they can do what they want. But I guess a lot of people just love to tell businesses that have been around forever and then go down the tubes, how they could have avoided that. Like my neighbor who tells me how to raise my kids or invest my money. Right.
