I have never done drugs or been a prostitute. This act
of violence against women
(any female)is deplorable. It is my understanding that Lorenzo Montoya, a suspect,
lived only 2 miles away from where the 13 skeletons were
found. I read on the internet
how in 2005 after Lorenzo Montoya had charges dismissed in court by telling the court that he was a "doting father"
with a newborn on the way that
the court simply dismissed the charges. It would seem that Lorenzo Montoya lured women by gaining women's confiendes. If a man tells you that he is "trustworthy"
because he has children, then RUN, and run fast away!
It would seem that Lorenzo Montoya had hatred against women because he didn't want to be a daddy. Nobody is pro-abortion. Nobody. Pro-choice people simply leave that legal right availabe because
of incidences such as Lorenzo Montoya who killed 13 females
because he hated women because he had to pay child support. Nobody is pro-abortion. Nobody. Pro-choice people merely try to
reduce the number of abortions
500 a month in New Mexico by
education and planned parenthood.

To keep reporting that these women led less than model lives is irrelevant. They are still somebody's daughter, mother, sister or mother. There is no evidence to say that the lives they led is what got them killed. A serial killer is a psychopath who kills for the thrill, he or she doesn't have to have a reason. Yes, there lifestyles may have put them at higher risk, but none of us can say that we or someone close to us will ever become a victim of a crime. I am sure if the police investigated all adult murder victims everyone would have a skeleton in their closet. Including all of you insensitive people out there.

Stop pointing fingers and blaming (Too much Monday morning quarterbacking going on! Why not work with, rather than against solving this heinous crime of murder and bring closure to the families? No matter where the Incident occurs, crime victim’s stories still need to be heard with a goal of prevention, personal safety awareness and provide closure whenever possible! Every time APD does some type of targeting action (TAC-Plans) many times due to citizen’s complaints, DWI checkpoints, Field Interviews (FI), some citizens raise the dickens that they are being singled out or picked on. If the outcry from citizens was not there back then and allowed the patrols to police, may have scared off the vulture. To be able do their job where prompt intervention is encouraged to deal with the little things like graffiti, vandalism, jaywalking, that any crime at all is damaging to society and if people observe that the little things escape punishment then they are tempted to try bigger things. This was behind the 70’s-80’s ‘broken windows’ approach. Today it falls under many different names or plans. There is considerable evidence that high police visibility is one the most effective deterrents to crime, however they need the eye’s and ears of citizens to help them, as they cannot be everywhere at once.’
This type of policing often incorporates the targeted policing of ‘hotspots’ on the grounds that a high proportion of crime is committed at particular locations, and the targeting of repeat offenders, since a relatively small number of people are responsible for a disproportionately large amount of the crime. Implementation/Action/Follow-u p of this kind of policy frequently leads to the apprehension of offenders with outstanding warrants who, not surprisingly, are the same people who commit the ‘smaller’ crimes they may turn into more violent ones along the road! We must all remember that all of us never graduate from the school of experience of life and in this same token you never stop learning and trying to improve on areas through lesson learned. We are all human and therefore we make mistakes this is a vital part of life that shapes the future when you come to the fork in the road with too many paths to take. The old saying if you can’t climb over the mountain try going around it (May take longer but will get there). And remember choices do play here – if you make a wrong one all is not loss – learn from it and change – when other’s cry out for help don’t turn your back on them help them be THERE!! To all the family members stay strong in these hard times and I pray for closure!

This is from the Encarta Dictionary:
irregardless
ir·re·gard·less [ìrri grdləss]
adverb
△ Same as regardless
(nonstandard)
[Early 20th century. Probably blend of irrespective + regardless]
Since the prefix ir- means "not" (as it does in irrespective), and the suffix -less means "without," irregardless is a double negative and is regarded as nonstandard. As such, it is to be avoided, in favor of irrespective or regardless.

It's always sad when a young person dies before his or her time. Yes, these women were involved in a dangerous life style but it was a living, correct? Sadly, they all had many years of whoring ahead of them cut short by tragic circumstances. They'll be missed by their scumbag cliants.

well i am very sad to here that my freind cinnamon was found there. she was always so full of life, she was so very smart, so was so very pretty, she was a great person. she chose the wrong path but she didn't deserve to just be left there. i am so sad that any of these young women had to go through any of this....they might have made so wrong choices in life but don't we all. they may have lived a different live than most of us but we all have to remember that they were still loved.

I believe now six women have been identified. My condolences to all the families. At least now four more families can have closure, not one that any of us would choose to have.
Either way, no matter what these women did in their past, it still is horrific to hear.

I think your planned event is a beautiful, thoughtful tribute & I may just attend although I did not know any of the victims. These women walked on the dark side but they are now in a place filled with beauty, light & love irregardless of their chosen profession.

Please do not release helium filled balloons. When they deflate wildlife eats them, they block the digestive system & the animals die a painful death. Wouldn't a more fitting memorial be for friends & family to state the good qualities of the victims, their acomplishments & have everybody sign condolance cards to give to their families?

Please do not release the balloons. No more death of anything needs to be connected to the horrible, unfair way they died.

They keep saying that only 4 are identified but why dont they consider the fetus identified as well since her mother has been identified already? They are including it in the overrall body count? My thoughts are with the family in this time as I am sure it has been a hard road for them.

As the 4 victims ID'd were all missing before fall 2004, isnt it possible that Joel Patrick Courtney could be the killer?

This is all so tragic, but to be honest, if they had been former teachers or bus drivers, they would have reported this, too. The news is reporting things about their lives. agree with an earlier writer who said that perhaps this would deter other young women thinking about traveling this unfortunate path. It is too late to help them; perhaps by highlighting the lifestyle and its contribution to their deaths we can help the living. Regarding mugshots: you'd be surprised how very few people have current photos.

Now, on to dictionaries. Although it's true that the American Heritage Dictionary, the Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary, and the Oxford English Dictionary all list the word irregardless, they also note that it's considered nonstandard. Listing a word as nonstandard is a way that dictionaries concede that a word is in common use, but isn't really a proper word. Standard language is defined as the language spoken by educated native speakers (1), but comprehensive dictionaries also include nonstandard words, dialect, colloquialisms, and jargon--words like ain't, conversate, and irregardless. It seems pretty common for people to look up a word in a dictionary, and if it's there, they think it's fine to use that word every circumstance. It's the "Look, it's a word!" phenomenon. But you have to look a little further to see what kind of word it is, and if it's nonstandard in some way, then use it with caution.
