this is what ? the 999th time taxpayers get to foot the bill for the armpit revitilization of Abq that is downtown ? How many 'REvitilizations does it take to realize downtown stays the same, the downtown denizens could care less and the taxpayers wallets are too empty ?

Every revitalization they do adds more bars which equates to more trouble. That is a proven commodity, and yet we continue to do the same thing hoping for a different result. I'm curious what the plan is this time.

Were it I, I'd block off Central from about 1st St to Rio Grande and make it like the 16th St Mall in DT Denver. No vehicular traffic on Central in that area except buses which run every 5 minutes max, and are free. Cross traffic is allowed every 2-3 blocks.

Right Mayor, spend millions to make a few thousand.

Already the city is spending millions to upgrade the convention center and do you think more companies will come to ABQ just because the front looks different?

A better idea would be to feed the hungry and poor with some of that money.

Offer to loan it to Rio Rancho to build a bride across the Rio Grande instead of wasting 50 million plus on I-25 / Paseo Del Norte off ramp. After all those who live in RR use that off ramp to go home so let their city build a crossing.

That alone will ease the traffic at that on/off ramp.

Can you hear me Mayor Berry ?

You sound more like Marty every day.

At least Berry isn't touting light rail like the Marty the Runt was - from DT to Louisiana @ more than $21mil/mile at the time. And that was just to put it in, no trains, employees or maint etc.

If the Mayor wants to revitalize DT, then he needs to look at attracting a REAL grocery store so those who live there use it. That includes the poor as well as those in the high priced 'lofts' of the old Abq HS etc. A Smith's would work great, or Albertson's. How to attract them - property tax breaks, they do it all the time!!

A couple of well-placed canisters of white phosphorous or napalm ought to do the trick!

One thing about you, you can't tell when one is joking.

Sorry don't really drink, don't pray (for what?) don't act like a jerk either.

TO bad you can't say the same thing.

Oh and not a Russian solider which if you spelled it correct would be "bolshe schiesser".

Learn your Russian better!

Before revitalizing it, perhaps some public input into what people want it to become would be a worthy endeavor<gasp!>.

Isn't bolshe yiddish for "Word", like "bolshe tov" (origin of bull-sh__tter) good words. That's the root for Bolshevik too. You know, since many in the movement, like Marx, were Jewish. I thought scheisser was German for excrement. Schiessen means "to shoot", e.g., "nicht schiessen". So schiesser probably means shooter.
But at any rate, what you write is German, not Russian.
