...Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man...Thomas Jefferson

...The rifle itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of it's own. Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles...Col. You know, I've been thinking... we need to get more legal firearms in the hands of minorities.

Based upon the information that the gun advocates have provided us, we know that in neighborhoods where there are more legal guns, there are fewer gun deaths, right? I mean, that's what the NRA says. So arming minorities makes sense.

Now, minorities are the victims of more police-brutality than any other group, right? And gun advocates are always spouting off that the government(in this case the police and FBI)should fear its citizens, right. So let's start getting more assault weapons into the hands of minorities.

Problem solved.

Race card?

"All men are created equal", Mr. Constitution... I just want to make sure that they all have access to firearms, per the Second Amendment.

We need to promote responsible gun ownership in poor areas. The NRA has been woefully absent in poor black neighborhoods, and you know that!

Come on... "discontent" should always be in the forefront. It's what keeps us from becoming complacent about oppression.

A discontented minority population is a healthy thing.

When you think about it, Project Protection(or is it Project Protect?) makes sense, because it would mean more African-American representation within the NRA, something that it clearly lacks.

Love the idea...let's make it happen!

You are showing your ignorance! The first gun control laws in this country were Jim Crow laws, implemented by southern DEMOCRATS, to keep black folks unarmed, so they could be more easily controlled and brutalized.
Contrary to what Rosi ODonnll and Opry would have you believe, The NRA does NOT discriminate, everyone is welcome, and there are many, many Blacks, as well as all other races that are members. I was only at NRA main office in Alexandria, VA once, and the first two representatives I saw once inside, were both African Americans. And I am not aware of any laws now, in this country, that prohibit any specific race from owning firearms...

Excellent! Then there are people already within the NRA who can help get "Project Protect" off the ground.

We need to get some decent firepower into the hands of law-abiding black-Americans, so that they can protect themselves and bring down the crime-rate in low-income areas.

According to the NRA, the more firearms we get into the ghetto's, the lower the crime-rate will be.

I think that one firearm per adult per household is the best formula to use.

Exactly! So my point is even stronger.

We MUST get more legal firearms into the hands of those living in economically-disadvantaged communities. The NRA and FBI support this via their stats and research on gun-violence.

The sooner we're able to load up the ghetto with guns (in the hands of responsible owners, of course) the sooner we'll see the crime rate drop. Gun advocates are right...those drug dealers and thieves won't know what to do!

Support "Project Protect" today!

So quit listening to Rosi Odonnll and Opry, and tell that to your big city democrats who run all the big cities, and who have imposed their own city gun bans. Indeed, evil flourishes, where good men do nothing. Law abiding citizens in the inner city, have the right to be able to defend themselves, from the gangs who now rule the streets. Neighborhoods with armed law abiding citizens cannot be terrorized by gangs. As you notice, gangs flourish in 'Gun Free Zones'.

How about this one that occurred a couple of weeks ago:

You can try to bu11shit us all you want, but the few people owning assault weapons, the better. There is no down-side to it; hunters still get to use their guns, pistol-shooters still get to own pistols, and everyone else is a little bit safer.
Sorry...you lose this one, and I think you know it.
It basically comes down to selfishness. People who want assault weapons and big magazines aren't willing to give up those very unnecessary things to lower the risk of another mass-shooting.
Selfish and childish.
. Wasn't it r system that let him out to kill again & y is it all your way isn't that selfish? More problems here than just guns.y is it just younger generation on killing spree? Do u have any blame on parents teaching respect, human life values & discipline.or use your tunnel vision & just look at guns. Do u think r judicial system needs fixed ? There r more violent games & movie than when we were kids.or do u still think it is just the guns.if u say yes to only guns then u r f-ck up like a soup sandwich.
