Gun Debate Grows in Albany

The battle over gun-control legislation in New York continued Monday, with Democrats and Republicans in the state Legislature balking at each others' proposals.

Andrew Cuomo and company are a bunch of treasonous rat bastards. The laws he is proposing are draconian measures that will not stop criminals. Cuomo has even said that confiscation is a possibilty. Maybe he shoud lead by example and be guarded by state troopers carrying fly swatters.

Seriously, what is it about those guns that attract the lunatic-fringe? Does it make up for some other shortcoming in your life? I really am curious.

I know the explantation is that you somehow need an assault weapon to keep the Chinese from invading America or something to that effect, but what is it really? I think that you really get off holding the think in your hands.

Now, your garden-variety 30-30 is a nice little weapon that put food on the table for millions of Americans moving west. It's powerful enough for deer, reliable, and you can't tickle off a spray of rounds with it.

This is a great example of someone that knows nothing about firearms. A flash suppressor only reduces the intensity of the muzzle flash for the individual firing the weapon. The flash can still be seen by others - including the invading Chinese...

How fast does your car go? Should you be able to buy a chevy corvette? How about a dodge charger? What about a mustang GT?A nissan 300Z? Regarding what attracts a gun owner, I would say that flexibility of configuration would be a main point. Let ten different people buy a Remington model 700 and you have ten identical firearms. ARs et al can be fitted out to one's personal preference much more easily.
