Sure would like to know which judges said it's o.k. to gamble with the non -flying publics lives.

First time one of those jets crashes the airport will be sued and the people of Santa Monica will pay through the nose.

Here ya go….

This was something I have been following……Pretty crazy huh???
Next will main street have to change to a 75 MPH zone??.....LOL

At the request of the Federal Aviation Administration, U.S. District Judge George H. Wu issued a temporary restraining order to keep the city from banning jets with approach speeds ranging from 139 to 191 mph. City officials say the restrictions are necessary to protect airport workers and residents who live near runways.

This explains it, he's a repubican who puts the rich above the general publics safety. Screw human life if it inconveniences the rich.

This court ruling is a harbinger of actions to come by the right -wing nut tea -bagger types, The upper caste in this country don’t care about anyone butt themselves and have convinced the tea -bagger types that the rules/regulation that protect the population in general are bad and hinder the rights of the rich and corporate America and restrict their ability to make money.

Let’s examine this for a moment….

The city says it does not need or want these fast landing jets.
The feds say you will have them and too bad……….

Now I don’t need or want the expensive insurance policies that obama says we have to buy as I only want catastrophic insurance.

Obama say too bad you have to buy it………….
The insurance companies rejoice.....

Are you saying obama is a tea bagger??

Obama Care is there to protect me from you as much as it is to protect you from yourself.

Just as me and my health plan pay for people who don't want or can't afford their own insurance and therefore justify a single payer system, this judge is telling the people of Santa Monica they are going to have to pay for costs associated with a catastrophic plane crash when they have no control of prevention of said crash.

What’s really pathetic is most if not all of those jets flying into Santa Monica are carrying rich people from other areas like Westwood, Hollywood or Malibu.

I don’t need or want protection from myself………

And we don’t know that the plane crash you speak of will ever happen……..

The city should be able to decide what goes on at their airport and I should be able to decide what insurance I want……..

Something else that is very pathetic.
When I had my small delivery company we were self insured……
I paid zero for auto insurance…………I just posted a bond that collected interest……

But now obama is going to tell me I have to buy his type of insurance???
That is pathetic……..

Butt I want protection from you! Change the laws that say my health care provider has to take you in their emergency room or that any of my tax dollars pay for your treatment at the county level.

"The city should be able to decide what goes on at their airport".

That's what I said, the city should be able to restrict plane for safety reasons. The judge ruled on political reasons and not public safety issues.

"I should be able to decide what insurance I want…….".

And you could have if repubicans hadn't pressured Washington to omit "single payer or public option" from Obama Care.
"I paid zero for auto insurance…………I just posted a bond that collected interest……".

And under Single Payer Public Option you would have been able to do the same.

"That is pathetic…….".

No, what's pathetic is that most if not all your complaints would have been addressed if Democrats had not sold out to repubicans for votes that the repubicans never delivered even after they got concessions that resulted in the flawed healthcare bill we now have.

I am covered…………I probably have better coverage than you and I only pay 2k per year for a family of four……
Blue cross is 14k per year for the less coverage………

But my insurance company will not cover pre existing conditions until after one year…….
We have had it 6 years so we don’t have to worry but it is not an approved plan so obama say we need to spend 14k per year for one that is…..
Plus my policies has medivac does yours??
I can use mine anywhere in the world, can you?
I have free meds and no copay…….Do you?

If the government let me run 20 small vans around California delivering a specialty item with ZERO insurance because I posted a bond to cover my liability then why can I do that with health insurance???

Political…………That is oslamacare………

Do you want to see great healthcare coverage for 10% of oslamacare?
From an American company?

Oh but oslama say you can’t even buy it………..
I can because this American company will sell to me because I live outside of the USA..

Click on get a quote
Click on global coverage
Fill out the 90 second form and get a quote…….

Then tell me why I can’t just pay my 2k per year but I must pay 14k per year……..

Wrong………..Even as a single payer everyone was to be forced to buy it………….
Just like in Canada…..
My taxes would go up 200k per year but I would get free medical care…..
In the UK my taxes would go up more than 400k per year.
But I get FREE insurance……….

No thanks………….

No worry as it is already in the garbage can……….
26 states will opt out……
It is unconstitutional to force me to buy anything so that will be gone also.
No funding for obamacare…

Santa Monica Airport is OBNOXIOUS.

The new flight is hell.

Student propeller planes circling our homes all weekend long and low flying scary loud jets have stolen our property values and quality of life.

SMO should stick to Rose Ave. or be CLOSED.

Furthermore the airport does not contribute to Santa Monica's tax base according to the Mayor. There is no gain for residents from the airport we just get the lovely fumes, danger, and OBNOXIOUS noise.

The Santa Monica Airport has been in existence since the 1920's. What the heck were you thinking when you decided to move in the vicinity of SMO. If you want quiet...move to Trona!

Oh I agree 100% with that thought…….
I had friends in Ukiah, Ca that had the last small lumber mill (or any mill for that matter) in the Valley.
And then they built a hotel next door and told him he could not run a night shift anymore…….

My problem lies in that the city voted to stop the larger jets and the courts told the city……..
We don’t care what you people voted on…………We are going to tell you what you are going to do…………

Ahhhhhh, you didn't read the article did you? There haven't been “JETS landing at Santa Monica Airport since the 1920's".

The first commercial jet service in the world was from London to Johannesburg, in 1952.

It wasn’t until the late 60’s that SMO began seeing more than 5 -6 jet aircraft landings per day. And those were much slower than the corporate jets of today which now make dozens of landings per day at said airport.

It’s all about the relative speed of approaching/departing jet aircraft compared to general aviation craft and/or the ground.

So how do you "willied" feel about all that jet noise controversy surrounding Fentress Field in Chesapeake, VA and Oceana in Virginia Beach, VA? How would the rest of you people throughout the state of California like to see Fort Pickett near Blackstone, VA become an outlying landing field for the U.S. Navy jets stationed at both of those air-bases!?
