Arctic methane leaks could be accelerating global warming
The high concentrations of the greenhouse gas recorded in the air above cracks in the ice could be evidence of yet another positive feedback on the warming climate - leading to even faster Arctic warming, the New Scientist reported.

Still more feedbacks.

And more active than you suspect.

Tho arctic permafrost & shallow ocean methane release to the atmosphere is increasing, not a major rise in global methane levels are seen. Work to decrease rice paddy emissions, animal emissions & decrease escaping methane from oil industry operations may be helping, altho the recently ended but deep & extended solar minimum could also have had some influence in slowing the rise of atmospheric methane.
There are controls of atmospheric methane, as mentioned. However, if great permafrost & clathrate methane emissions helped push world methane levels to 4-5000 ppb, human ability to control greenhouse warming would be compromised.

The question remains, where is the methane originating?
