Maybe the bozos in charge of the uniopn should ask the former Hostess Bakery Union Employees how their union reps "helped" them out... But then, why should they care because the union reps will still have a job, and the Boeing and Hostess workers won't.

According to the progressives for some reason, everyone who does not think like them believe we must live in the 1950's. Well the dwindling big ticket unions shot themselves in the foot holding the nation hostage many times. Yo progressives, if Boeing moves their manufacturing plant, you will understand that the 1950's don't exist anymore also. At some point government unions are going to be on the list. Of course they were under better control back in the 1950's with wages and benefits.

I have known several people that worked in various positions at Boeing. They pay well and offer top of the line benefits to their employees. To go on strike or reject the contract makes no sense!

First, they (Boeing) wanted to cancel their pensions, and move them all into 401K's - if I worked for 20+ years at a company, and they told me part of keeping my job would be to cancel my pension, I'd be pissed too.

Second, they pay well because they have a talented pool of machinists - a hard commodity to come by in this day and age.

Third, it would end up costing Boeing more to find another facility, move all tooling and machinery out, and on top of that find a talented labor pool that actually knows AS9102 inspections, CNC machinists, secondary machinists with manual machining capabilities, designers and programmers, inspectors - all which do not exist in southern states.

As to moving manufacturing from Boeing to another country, forget that too - compliance regulations, material cert tracking - none of which any other countries comply with FAA and AS9102 guidelines, so don't let that fear get to you, because it will never happen.

Why do you think the facility they are opening in the Carolinas are just an assembly facility? You don't attract skilled workers by telling them they now make crap for pay, and have to work in a right to work state - not gonna happen. I've been in the aerospace sector for over 30 years - and was already called and offered a job at their new facility - which I promptly and respectfully turned down.

The days when the Unions can dictate to the Company is over. They will just move to a right to work state.

Yes, just like FloriDUH. You get the right to work, and the company gets the right to pay you minimum wage.

Then, unless you own the company, shut up, and do as you are told. The Unions priced them selves out of business.

Most Florida jobs ARE minimum wage level---hospitality/hotel, elder care, restarurant and retail. If you want to make more than that, become a dentist of a pharmacist or a wealth asset manager. They do well in Florida, but shit yeah you need a big brain for that work. Being a cop or a fireman pays suprisingly well in Broward/Palm Beach/Dade, though not elsewhere in the state. If you hope some union is gonna come to your McNuggets-bagging job and magically get you $18/hr, you're nuts. That is reality. Feel free to dream otherwise.

Agreed. Wages are sub par, and talent pool for skilled labor does not exist in Florida. Nor most of the south, except oil refinery industries - LA, some in Texas, but that's about it.

Other than that, it's merely assembly work - no true skill needed there.

Oh please. Have you spoken to the workers coming out of the city schools lately They sure as hell aren't worth Union wages. Companies moving to the South will do just fine, and their workers won't be drunk from Friday until Tuesday. Beside that they are hard workers, not like the sons, and daughters of the poor, and unfortunate that thinks they are worthy of Union pay to sit around with their hands out until pay day.

I think that most would agree you need to pull your head out of your rear, but then based on your posts, you already appear to be brain dead. With crap for brains, it probably belongs there.
