Boeing actually thought American Airlines management's word could be trusted? How naive can you be?
American's own emloyees know the management there can't be trusted and lying is second nature to them, even under oath !

Hey congress if you vote to allow jets service under 100 seats to be exempt from slot restrictions at O'Hare we'll give you jet service. (FSD, SUX, pick a few ramdom others) Here come the F-100's. 6 months later it's unfortunate your city is not profitable. Bye, but thanks for that vote. If you will take an huge cut in pay and work rules, we will share the pain and once things improve we'll all share in the gain. ( 8 years later, the contracts are long expired not a penny has been shared, but bonuses are all over Amon Carter Blvd.)
