Michimasa Fujino, the president of Honda Aircraft Co. and designer of its light Hondajet, has won the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics' Aircraft Design Award for 2012, the institute said Monday.

Michimasa Fujino and Honda Aircraft Co. did NOT pioneer the over-the-wing engine mount configuration. That exact configuration was pioneered by the VFW-Fokker VFW-614 which first flew in 1971 in what was then West Germany.
