This has come up before, but alas - no answer.
When Wacko's close-up facial photos were posted, they revealed stubble. Guess what? The stubble was not a uniform color, but it was a salt-n-pepper grey. There was no mottling of distinct areas whatsoever.
Isn't it true that hair follicles that grow in the affected skin area would have been affected too?
Anybody?
Were the light parts definitely gray? When I have seen people with vitiligo, the hair in the effected areas are white and not gray.

Yes, lupus would have shown up. So, he lied. He did not have lupus. The wording of vitiligo didn't come across as a firm belief, though. It said the word "consistent", but the word wasn't written with the confidence of some of the other things described, such as the polyps. Whether or not he truly had vitiligo or destroyed his own skin pigmentation through dangerous chemicals is still in question, for me.
Yeah it didn't really confirm anything. Which stood out to me. Clearly if he had it, they would've used different wording. Both John Landis and Quincy Jones denied he was using vitiligo. And even Jermaine claimed Michael had bleached his skin.

Here's something interesting. I remember looking at photos of this newscaster. He's now discussing treatment he's receiving.

But here's a photo of him, showing the pink patches, which is why Michael's case of vitiligo is so questionable to me.

I respect him for being public about his disorder and not afraid to show the effects this is having. I also respect him for not bleaching his skin white.
I loved it when MJ claimed the vitiligo had it "hereditary" claiming one of his grandfathers (his mother's father I think) had it but Katherine has yet shown a picture of her father with it. So it leaves you with more questions than answers.

That's why the jury is out, on that one, for me. Something ruined his skin pigmentation. I just don't know if it was self-induced or an actual genetic disorder. If he truly had it, I should think he would have spoken about it, given the PR and attention he could have brought to the disorder. But he whined about it, to Oprah, after he'd gone white, at such an even and steady pace, and after he'd carved up his feature to look like a white woman.

One of the side effects of using Benoquin cream is triggering Vitiligo. It is a bit of the hen-and-egg question on this one.
